Things have moved on a lot. I got this to save on postage, when I bought my Novation Impulse. Last time (apart from an older Novation product) I bought a midi controller, was about six years ago, a great big behemoth thing made by a reasonable brand, although nowhere near as good as some Novation stuff, I needed to supply power from my European plug, because the USB wouldn't hack it. So too, I had to use a midi cable from out of the back of the unit, into my Steinberg UR interface and then into an old but pretty fast Windows 7 laptop and Cubase 5! 5!!!!!!
Well, now computers are a bit faster and midi controllers much more useable than six years ago. What you pay now, especially at Thomann, is so much better value for money, than back in the day (actually if memory serves me correctly, I gave up on that old midi controller and instead used a Korg M50 hard synth).
But it's nice to have the option if I ever use that full-size midi controller again.
And it charges your phone!
