Thomastik fantastic !!!

These strings are utterly, totally, unbelievably BRILLIANT. They are expensive, for a very good reason. The resonance, colour and sheer beauty of the sound they generate puts other classic guitar strings in the shade. And the tone is subtly different from conventional nylon strings. As well as more powerful. And when I plug my electro-acoustic Yamaha into the Fender amplifier it sounds nothing like anything I've ever heard. Mysterious is the only word that springs to mind. Sorry to go on, but I really cannot praise these strings too highly....

A pricey experiment.

Those are special strings that you may love or hate. If you don't mind the high price it is worth taking a risk and try them.

Great for soft feeling on electric jazz guitar
Tomas J 04.09.2017
As a classical guitar player I looked for strings that would sound somewhat similar to nylons on a jazz guitar, allowing for ease of play at the same time. It took some time and experimenting, and the KR 116 are what I've settled upon. Especially the high strings e, b and g are very suitable for someone with classical background, as they are quite thick compared to metal strings, and you thus do not have to extremely adjust your technique to play barrés. The sound is very soft and jazzy, and unless you play in a really aggressive manner, you won't be disappointed. The only drawback - they wear out pretty fast.

Great sounding strings
Anonymous 20.03.2017
I put these on a concert guitar instead of nylons. It gives it a really nice sound and they have similar tension to nylons which is important. They sound really lovely and give such a nice tone. Well worth the money.

MT
Thomastik Classical strings..
Michael T. 293 21.01.2015
I have tried these strings on a number of my guitars but found them unsuitable for my classical guitar. I was looking for a set without the nasty nylon G string and thought this set would be the answer to my problem. The sound and play-ability is fine but the intonation is way off for an uncompensated bridge saddle. Pity as I really like these strings...
