Full Rounded and Balanced Tone

I usually use bronze-wound 12s on my acoustic guitars. I always found that 11s sounded a bit "thin" and 13s felt too hard and tight. After trying these Spectrum Bronze 11s several years ago I now use them on most of my acoustics. They have a softer feel than other brands of strings I have tested over the years. These Thomastik-Infeld SB111 strings have the fuller sound of 12s but they feel less tight and hard. I can drop them down a semitone and they still sound full and rounded without being clanky whether I am fingerpicking or strumming. I still like the tighter harder feel of other brand bronze 12s on only two of my smaller bodied acoustic guitars, but I use these SB111 strings exclusively on ALL my dreadnought sized acoustics and will not use any other strings on them now. I think they keep their tone a bit longer than most other quality brand of uncoated bronze strings I have used. The only very minor issue I have had is that the short section of string at the ball end of the 5th and 6th strings, where the string is folded back and bound, is quite thick in comparison to other sets of 11s with the same diameters. On guitars with smaller diameter bridge pin holes it can be quite difficult getting the string seated properly and those bridge pins will not go in as far as the others.

Thomastik Spectrum Strings

Thomastik strike again. These, alongside their Plectrum range are the best strings I have used for acoustic guitar. There is a very consistent and strong tone and projection across the strings, with the treble side in particular feeling very supple under the fingers. Yes, they are more expensive than other brands, but for the quality and longevity they work out cheaper in the long run. Highly recommended.

Can’t rate the sound, due to EVERY wound string snapping upon tuning. Was looking forward to them as well.

Thomastik Fantastic

Having switched to Thomastik Power Brights for the electric I thought I would try the acoustic strings. They do not disappoint and like the electric strings they sound great, rich and powerful with a nice round tone, better than anything else I have tried and I have tried everything. I am converted. They are not the cheapest strings but the quality is high.

Excellent strings!

Just like other Thomastik strings, these ones are amazing!

They have a warm and rich sound, which is uncomparable with most other string I've tried. They might be a bit more expensive, but you get a lot of tone for your money.

Would recomend to anyone looking for a new favourite string set!

There?s no bad or good strings in the world anymore, long time ago. There are only convenient or not convenient. These strings were little disappointment for me. Hard to play and dull sound on my guitar.
