I use these cables all the time and I couldn't imagine how to patch without them.

I've got 10 of these but there's one that has a bad connection. I'm sure it's just a fluke but it's something to look out for when your patch suddenly starts misbehaving.

PRO: patch anything to everything without having to use passive mults.
CON: don't expect to get the lid on your case with a bunch of these in your patch.
