A masterpiece!
Maxim K. 08.05.2013
I use the Solo 610 for recording acoustic and electric guitars, vocals and speech in my home studio. The quality of the sound (actually "sounds") I've been able to capture with the Solo 610 is just excellent . The boost from this pre is so substantial that I don't have to turn it up past about 5 (but you can do much more!) to get a great depth of sound, which allows me to pretty much wipe out the noise floor. This is a excellent product that allows you to enhance your studio work for the instruments that really need that setting (like brass), and do the single-track, quiter instruments at home.
Solidly constructed box made of metal.

I love it
Don D 09.08.2018
My vocals and acoustic guitars have never sounded so good.
The sound is clear and bright but not harsh, and with a sort of friendly analog warmth that's variable based on how much gain you dial in on the first control, that I found especially flattering to electric guitar, acoustic guitar and vocals.
With different Gain and Level combinations, you can easily go from ?big and clean? to ?big and fuzzy?, but you should understand that it has a certain harmonic warmth to it even in its clean settings.
The effect of the impedance switch is way cool, allowing a choice between low and high impedance for either the mic or DI input, with different impedance range for each.

Good DI
Francescod 31.10.2014
Yes, it is good quality, but maybe not completely worth the price. I love is as a DI, and certainly works well as a electric guitar DI before going into some computer amp simulator (ie guitar rig, amplitube....etc). The sound is balanced, and the knobs are really smooth and of high quality, it's a pleasure to set gain and out levels, and you can tweak them to have a pretty clear sound, or a quite coloured one. Good product all in all, recommended if you like THAT precise sound, but if you don't feel all the nuances and differences with other pres and are low on budget, I'd recommend also the GAP Pre 73 Deluxe. Anyways, solo 610 is a high quality, sturdy, portable and stylish preamp.

p
excellent product

I use it to increase the level of the sound coming from a Dynamic cardiod mic to an audio interface. Use the mic for talk, not music so can not fully appreciate the fine detail. The resulting sound seems to be clear.

It does this job well. Separate gain and level controls are convenient.
