I've had them for two and a half months. I'm thrilled with them!
They're very comfortable for all-day wear. I have some sensitivity to tension headaches, so uncomfortable headphones quickly become a nuisance. Not even Valcos escape this completely, they occasionally feel heavy on my head. Most of the time I can forget I have anything on, they're like a part of me. Mind you, I have been wearing these headphones for almost the entire day, every day, over the last few months. They fit like a glove.
The sound is interesting in a good way. It is detailed and clean (this is in Bluetooth mode with ANC on). I can hear far more details in the music while having the volume turned almost completely down. This is a huge win for everyday listening because I feel like it safeguards my hearing. As for the soundstage, it doesn't feel big. Admittedly, I don't have much experience with high-end headphones. For everyday listening use, these are great.
The noise cancelling is superb, which is what I bought them for. I live on a busy street with no sound isolation, and it is a constant generator of background stress. The first time I put the headphones on and turned on ANC, I burst into tears from the relief. I'm not exaggerating, I literally cried with tears running down my face. It felt so good to have silence. For me, it was life-changing. I don't ever want to take them off.
I even feel better when going outside in the city, because I can tune out the noise around me. It feels so freeing and makes me want to go out more.
I wish I could sleep with them. I even tried, and it feels like they're sturdy enough that they wouldn't break. It's just not comfortable for someone who sleeps on the side. You can't have everything, but with Valco, we're almost there.
Connectivity is good. These are my first Bluetooth headphones so I had to check what works and what doesn't. Pairing is smooth. They work without interruption when I'm behind the wall in another room. I use an ASUS Bluetooth adapter for my desktop PC. At first I had it plugged into the tower which sits on the floor, and I was getting some interruptions. I plugged it into my keyboard USB slot and that works perfectly without any sound cutting off. It cuts off if I have running water in the kitchen or bathroom, which I think is a general Bluetooth thing and nothing to do with the headphones. Same for when I cover them awkwardly with my hand or shoulder.
The only weird thing I've experienced is that sometimes they will turn themselves off for no reason. This has happened maybe 3 times in 2 and a half months, so it's not a big problem. It might even be something like static electricity, because I've had that problem before with other devices. And if that's the only complaint I have, it's truly minor because everything else works perfectly.
I wholeheartedly recommend these headphones, especially if you need strong noise cancelling. They're great for every day music listening because you can listen to music quietly and save your ears. The battery life supports all-day use.
