In the bands I play I always land on a rim shot because you get more beef from your snare, it's like steak and I get a really tasty sound. The downside to this is I go through sticks like crazy. These are great sticks though, they are long and feel good when I play but I do recommend getting 1A's if you're going to smack the kit hard because you'll get through these in about 10 hours of going at it.

I an amateur heavy metal drummer, but I know how not to hit hard with the sticks. So, good sticks! Nice weight, well balanced. Got damaged little sooner than I would expect them to be!

My go to sticks
Anonymous 19.07.2016
I've always played Vic Firth and for a long time layed 5A's but I felt they lacked in length. The 5A extreme is a little longer without comprimising the feel of a 5A.
Vic Firth sticks are consistent with quality.

Its good but not my style. I prefer something heavy like the Dany Carey signature sticks
