Vox in the box
Vintage Wage 14.09.2021
Just to clarify, I’m using vintage gear.
73 SG with bare knuckle Stormy mondays 12-50 strings
2021 SG with the same pups 11-46
2020 Gibson LP with mojotone 59 clones 11-46
Hagstrom jazz box with lollar pickup
Epi LP with bareknuckle PG Blues set
Ibanez RG with bare knuckles abraxas
Always on pedals: Xotic sp, ep and rc all low gain, the compressor on mid boost, and sometimes tc electronic mojomojo on low gain.

D'addario and Rotosound strings.

This amp is totally cool with these 6 guitars. A defined clear sound and the small speaker means I ain’t annoying the granny downstairs and I can move it around the flat quite easily…
I wasn’t sure if I should get an ac15, but now I’m certain.. but only after I’ve gotten another one of these guys for a mini stereo sound at home… it’s gonna be a recording mainstay too, starting with the next song
To my ear, the Hagstrom, both les Paul’s and the SG with the heavy strings sound the best.
I absolutely love it and totally recommend!

GM
Awesome combo amplifier!!!
George Mam. 15.08.2017
I got Vox Pathfinder 10 because I wanted a nice sounding little solid state combo. I already had the bass version of this amp, which has a great sound. So, I decided to try the guitar version. I mostly play Heavy Metal and Power Metal. This is the only amplifier I ever tried that can produce a nice Metal distorted tone with the gain knob set at noon. The tone is the familiar British tone. I love it so much. Controls are simple and easy to use and you can easily set them for a great tone. However, this amp hasn't any effects. For me, that isn't a con, because I use effect pedals for this purpose. Quality is great. This amplifier looks and sounds better than many more expensive amplifiers. If you love classic British Heavy Metal sound, it's perfect. I'm sure it does a good job for many other genres too.

K
Nice clean sound!
Kapser 03.02.2024
This would have been my ideal beginner amp : simple, analog, sixties clean sound and enough dirt as well. Very beautifull. And for the price of a cheaper pedal !

For my use now :
The clean is really good : chimey, as clean or sparkly as you want, clear. It doesn't sound 'transistor'. It is good on its own. And it takes pedals very well. I will use this for recording chimey sounds. Takes fuzz (tonebender) very well !

The dirt is more specific : I would use it for specific sounds for recording. Very dirty fuzzy , harsh sounds, lofi dirt, etc. It is not an all round dirt channel. I like it, but for specific use. It gets harsh easily which is a cool and nice sound on its own. But for an al round dirt sound for not -beginners, I would not recommend it.

Conclusion; I am very pleased with this cheap real Vox amp with beautifull cleans and experimental dirt. For Vox sound loving beginners with low budget, this is a must. For others if you don't have too high demands for the dirt channel for this price and you like fuzzy, fizzy dirt. Also.
If Pathfinder 15 would exist again, It would be great. Still cheap but I think the dirt channel would have more body in the sound.

Paul Zahl 13.02.2022
My Only complaint about this sweetie is it Doesn't' Have An Aux Speaker Out.....Faceit.... The "Custom Voiced" 6.5 incher aint up to the job Here.......I have TONS of Speakers laying around.....Hand Made In California Tone Tubby 12's.....TT 10's.......Eminence Fireballs......Face it....My JOB USED to be Re coning Speakers at A Brown Sound in Terra Linda California.....And this teeny amp could use a little lore "Spank" In the "Gank" stage.......Other wise I FLAT OUT. love it......I guess I'll have to BUILD a 12 Inch cab for the darn thing!!!!

Nice practice amp
partachu 15.02.2021
A good combo amplifier for the home.
The volume is great for the home and the sound quality is good enough for this price category. If you do not need different effects, etc., I advise you to safely take it.
Of the minuses, I would like to note a small functionality, but for such a price it is acceptable
In general, a good combo amplifier for beginners, but I would recommend something better if the budget allows

B
Nice Punchy Sound For A Small Speaker Amp
BillDL 13.07.2022
This amp is really well made (chipboard) and is well designed and attractive. I would have liked inbuilt reverb, but that would have made it more expensive and I have a reverb pedal to use anyway. The clean channel is puncy and surprisingly full and bassy for such a small speaker. There are some nice crunchy gain sounds with the overdrive button pushed in, but I found the jump in volume to be very sudden and excessive. Even with the gain knob down low, switching to overdrive boosts the volume a lot. It's almost as though the normal clean channel is too quiet. The amp is designed to be used as a practice amp, so it's not as though you would be switching channels mid song and it will be easy enough to prepare for the volume jump. This is a good sounding 10 watt practice amp at a price that is about right for the features and quality.

I
One of the best practice amps
I.A. 16.01.2018
If you want a small amp with a great sound, this is your choice, especially if you are looking for the typical Vox sound.

This is a very simple amp. It has two channels (actually, the second channel works more like a gain boost for added distortion). The clean channel is great. And surprisingly takes pedals very well, even fuzzes.

When I want a distorted sound, I prefer to overdrive the clean channel. The gain channel is a little too hard and with too much treble if not equalized correctly.

The EQ has only bass and treble controls, just like some other high range Vox amps. Anyway the Vox sound is very heavy in midrange.

It is loud enough for practice but you can also use it is bigger venues if you mic the amp or you can use its output jack and connect it to the mixing table (this one is frequently used at my church). More volume can be achieved by connecting a bigger speaker, but you?ll have to hardwire it.

The only downsides of this amp are the lack an external speaker output, effects loop and a footswitch connection to change between channels. However, again, some high end Vox amps don?t have them either.

The clean tones sound really good. The controls are super easy! Quite loud for indoor jam sessions. Overall pretty decent for beginners.

I tried to get the same sound that RHCP had in the most of their songs and I got the tone. I also tried to recreate some Deep Purple and Iron Maiden solos. In conclusion I'd like to say that this combo is a great choice for british heavy metal and for blues and also for some funky stuff

Pathfinder 10

A decent amp for the money.

Features

Input>Gain>Overdrive/Clean>Treble>Bass>Volume>Headphone Jack>On/Off

Very basic set-up, lacks any control over Mid's. The amp responds well to volume up to about 7-8 o'clock, however, any further and you're left with irritating buzzing and strong distorted sounds.

Very pretty little amp, and is very appealing to the eye. It is also well built, with a vintage look and feel to it.

Sound

The gain is very strong and is very good considering the price of the amp. Can be soft and as it increases, it has a lot of growl to it.

I would really like it if this amp had more EQ control to it, but I guess you get what you pay for with this amp.

I can't play this amp with a band. This is definitely just a practice amp.

Quality

The quality is average; as far as sound goes, which I think defines an amp, the quality of the sound is good enough for me to practice with in small spaces.

The build quality is fair, however, if you're in the UK it's note worthy that this amp comes with a 2 pin plug rather than a 3 pin and so a converter is needed.

The fabric's that make the aesthetics of this amp is of high quality and very eye catching, classic Vox.

Overall, a fair practice amp, and worth the money. However, I do think there is better out there.
