Cheap and fine strings.
Samiel 25.06.2020
I have been playing Warwick Red Label Nickels for years and these strings does not disappoint.
Sound-wise they are perfectly fine, they got nice warmer tone, which I prefer much more than stainless "zing" tone.
Some may notice the high C string is thinner than on other sets, but it sounds and plays fine and does not buzz in standard tuning.
There is no coating at the string ends and B string is not tapered.
Strings are smooth enough to not hurt your fingers and they will fit any (Warwick) bass.

The price pays off...

These strings are very good if you´re intending to use just a few times and replace for a new set. They´re are very bright but they do not last as it should.
Good for recordings when you need to change a set every 2-3 songs or when you just use it for practicing at home for educational purposes.
The feel on the fingers are also not the best. They are a little bit rough and not so comfortable for playing but acceptable.
The gauge of the B string is very good - .135 but the C string is ONLY .25 which turns for me in a negative point of this set.
Anyway, the cost effective is superb!

Cheap strings, work well
Anonymous 23.11.2015
I was a bit wary before buying these strings for my main six string bass. After a week or so, they are proving very good strings ? very responsive and spanky.

It is true that they are a bit rougher than, say, their D'Addario or Elixir counterparts, but it's hardly unmanageable and it seems to me that they are very nice on the skin.

Further, I should also point out that I really like a slightly thinner C string, which these string have. I have always had the impression that a 0.25 C can play very well in some contexts, and I am finding it quite nice. All the same, I reckon not everybody might share my preferences.

In any event, these are very good strings at a very reasonable price. As usual, Thomann's service has been absolutely flawless.

Good strings for the price!

These strings sound good and they feel ok under my fingers, of course do not expect miracles from these strings, they are not coloured or coated nor super smooth but they just do their job and they seem to keep well with time.
I have super sweaty hands so I kill the sparkly tone of new sets quite quickly, well I have been played these for 3 days in a row for like 3 hours a day at home plus 2 gigs and the sound is still ok.
Of course if you play a top end instrument you might want something more refined for it but for "everyday" strings on "everyday" bass they are absolutely ok.
Will definitely buy more of these for my 35 inch scale 6er!
Thanks Thomann!
