"Small Size - Big Sound" does exactly what it says on the box!
Jon100p 13.12.2020
Basic amp, lovely tone, easy to use - perfect for me.
Picked up my bass again after over 40 years! Bought this to use with my old 15" WEM cab rather than use my old valve amp (which is huge and very heavy) or by a new combo.
It is a joy to use, simple but very effective. The EQ controls are particularly nice - linear effect and the cover wide +/- range.
The sound is good at low volume (unlike my valve amp) and although I've not had chance to try it at very high volume with the current restrictions, it does appear to have potential to be quite loud.
My p-ups are passive and I like having the "gain" control rather than two inputs.
Headphone socket is good for late night practice.
Any cons? - none for me yet, but it is just a basic amp so I rated it "okay" for features.
Updated after 9 months use:
I have now joined a band and used the gnome for practices and one small gig. I have had several complements about the sound of this amp, one from an experienced guitar teacher who came up to ask what amp I was using and noted it down. We play mainly 60’s covers (with drums, guitar and keys, only vocals through a PA) and it is loud enough for us when used with a 4ohm speaker load that is fairly efficient (2x8; one 15” and one 12”). I find it struggles against the drums with a single 8ohm speaker, but for the size and cost, I think the Gnome is very good.

A little beast.
Aloo Gobi 09.03.2021
I recently have gone from being neighbourless to having neighbours at either side of me, so not being able to play at night when I finish work late was going to become an issue very quickly if I didn't try and solve the issue.

This is a perfect little headphone amp, as well as when it's running through a cab. I will admit though, it's being used far more for headphone playing that anything loud and the tone from it is unbelievable. If anyone else finds themselves in the same situation as me where you're playing through headphones, but don't want to suffer the lack of quality in tone... This is for you.

JF
Solid little amplifier!
John Fleming 19.04.2023
I have been using this amplifier for well over a year now and have been very pleased with it! I have used it predominantly as a preamplifier and DI at the end of the signal chain of my pedal board for recording or live use with in-ear monitoring, but have also used it to drive a number of different cabinets. When used with a cabinet, the amp outputs a decently loud 200W with plenty of clean headroom. It is very hard to get this amplifier to distort noticeably. The amp has a clean, transparent and clear tonal character. Partly due to the fairly high input impedance, a passive bass with a long cable will still retain its clarity. The construction of the amplifier, with its aluminium chassis, feels solid and premium. I would heartily recommend this amplifier. I prefer its tone to many amplifiers that cost far more! I would certainly buy another if something were to happen to mine.

P.S. It's tiny! It is smaller than my compressor pedal.

AB
Good for rehearsals
AC Bassy 24.03.2023
A small and compact amp if you want to combine with a freestanding speaker for practice with plenty of wattage! Despite making use of modern amp technology size-wise, I would only recommend this for practice with decent volume but not for gigs where one would want the sound quality one would get from a top end amplifier.

BJ
Big sound, small footprint
Bassline Joe 17.06.2023
Great little amp head.
Bought it as a temporary solution for my cream-crackered 2 tonne amp combo, to use it as amp for my (single) 15" cab that I had kicking around.
The sound is impressive and the tone controls give a decent amount of versatility. The repair of my first amp took longer than I cared for initially, but I really started to enjoy this little gem! I use it now as a backup amp: it weighs next to nothing, so it more or less lives in my gig case permanently. If I'm asked for a last-minute replacement, I take this thing with me - like I said, it lives in my gig case.
If it dies on me (which I somehow doubt it will before its time, as there's a 4 year warranty (3 year standard Thomann if not registered)), I will definitely get me another one.

Pros:
+ small footprint
+ sound is big enough for backline/rehearsals
+ reliable

Cons (if you can call it that):
- it has a built-in fan, so it needs an airflow around it - don't obstruct the airflow

It is simple, nice sounding, cheap head. I use parametric mid pedal before head and I am very happy. Cant beat it for the money.

T
Best practice amp for bass
TheBRZR 01.05.2023
I wanted something light and portable for living room jamming. Intention was to practice with nice tone and do not disturb the neighbours. After thorough research, I decided to go ahead with Warwick Gnome. I have matched it with the Gnome 10/8 cabinet.

Pros:
- Ultra Portable
- Very small real estate requirement
- Simple easy and responsive controls
- Sufficient wattage for living room practicing and jamming with band.

Cons:
- None for the price

Excellent Tiny Loud Bass Amp Head
Neil Forshaw 18.06.2024
This amp is so small it lives in my bass guitar bag permanently. It is so loud in all the gigs I've done so far with different bass cabs it has barely gone above around 20% volume and still plenty loud enough. Also you can use the DI without having to plug it into a cab which has also been very helpful.

Ordered it as a practice amp and backup for my ampeg v4b. I was really surprised with the volume of the unit. Its practically as loud as the ampeg. For me and my needs, it can do any gig trough an efficient 2x12 cab.
