Incredible sustain!
PhilJA 26.11.2017
I fitted this to my 2007 GPS Corvette that already had a Tedur JAN-III on it. The fitting was easy enough - I just had to make sure the seat was clear of any existing glue and that the part of the headstock that the base seats on was exactly a right-angle to the top end of the fretboard, so be prepared to do a little work if yours needs doing this as well and only do if you're confident doing this kind of work. You don't want to make a mess of it.

Also, when fitting, be very, VERY sparing with the amount of glue you put on the base of the nut. I put on a tiny amount, yet there was enough for some surplus to come out around the edges. Also be aware that loctite superglue sets FAST. Make sure your nut is in exactly the right place before setting it down, otherwise you'll have a mess on your hands!

Once on, I noticed an immediate difference to the Tedur JAN in that the top part of the nut doesn't sit parallel to the base, it rocks forwards or backwards until the strings sit completely parallel in the grooves. In my case this meant that the top part of the JAN rocked forward towards the fretboard and sat at about a 5-10 angle to the base. I initially thought this was a fault and sent some pictures to Warwick, who were quick to respond and let me know it was normal. Since then, I've seen Andy Irvine playing with his brass JAN-III and his is the same. Phew!

Anyway, after all that, it is on and... the brass JAN-III is just ridiculously good. Like all JAN's it means you get another level of adjustability with your nut, all without filing or permanent change. However, what is really noticeable and the main benefit is the sustain it gives. A open string will just ring for ages and sounds so open and clear, really complimenting that Warwick sound and further brings out that low end growl. The way it rings out is piano-esque in it's nature. Plus it matches my bell-brass frets and looks the business.

It is expensive, but if you love your Warwick, it is a worthwhile investment.

The best nut in existence!
Bell brass is absolutely the best material for a nut for a crisp and solid sound, extremely recommended for death metal.
Warwick shows that the slot takes strings up to 0.114, and included instructions to use a 3.1mm file to easily fit up to 0.121, as i did and it worked like a charm.
I used it to upgrade my BTB bass, along with warwick brass frets,
it's expensive but definitely worth the money. Brass is eternal.

Pros - crisp sound, amazing resonance; Easy install; height adjustment screws make action adjustments easy!
Cons - price; Much more expensive than ABM brass nuts.

Great product

This nut was bought to replace the standard nut on my Warwick bass. It is a straightforward swap one for another, no machining or anything. The nut allows you to raise or lower the string height with its fine adjustment improving the action of the guitar. Being brass it also gives the strings a brighter tone than the fitted plastic one. Well made, it is a worthwhile improvement to your Warwick bass.

For all Warwick owners, its a must!
Djordje 05.09.2015
Serious, well crafted, very easy to mount, ajustable.
Its a serious part of your instrument, more sturdu and durable (reliable, also) than the old plastic nut. As well, far superior to other brass thangs, that can be found on the internet. Its contribution to the characteristic Warwick sound fundamental.
Very, very recomendable to all old Warwick users.

This a simple brass nut, be carefull it will not work with all warwick basses, even with Thumb - I had to set back one as it was not fitting right, I was disapointed from warwick when I send them this info just them to know. Their feedback was that they never had this kind of issues.

In any case Thomann support and refund policy is amazing, so I had to send back the "faulty" one and buy it again, which take a guess? I had to give it to a luthier to fit it correctly as the new one had another issue.

Consider the price for a nut.....

Can not go wrong!

As a bass player trying to save money and get with new tech the just a nut is a revelation. Ive never fit a nut (bone) or had to but a set off files or have the money to pay for a nut fitting and filing. However ive fit 2 or 3 just a nut 3 on 4 and 5 strngs and both were easy. Also if you get a bass set up and you find its too low or high action wise a 1/4 turn up or down will resolve it - thats why i like warwick these squash so much new ideas into the bass.

just nuts!!
they call me mark? 04.08.2019
bought this for my 2005 corvette standard and it looks the dogs!
it changed the sound also from having a very clicky top end to more mid sounding.
really easy to fit youself, remove the old one with a sharp Stanley blade or craft knife
(be carefull not to mark one of the best basses in the world please!) clean of any residue from the previous glue with you blade/knife then use just two dots of superglue and I mean two dots as the force of the strings and the fact that the surface being smooth will transfer the glue into a thin layer and will surfice !!! once positioned carfully just two strings, two center or two outer strings can be put into place to keep it down and held in position.
once dry, tune your bass to your pitch and adjust the nut up or don depending on your fret board to the point were your string just stop ringing when open. if your fretboard is in good condition there is no reason why this should'nt be straight forward...... mmmmm niiiice.

A must upgrade for Warwick basses
Johnny Kings 02.05.2023
I have two Warwick RB basses: a Corvette $$ 5 and a StarBass 4. The standard nut on the Corvette $$ broke after a while and I got the Just A Nut III Brass to replace it. For my StarBass, soon after getting it, I immediately replaced the standard nut with a new Just A Nut III Brass. The quality is super!

The perfect upgrade for your Warwick
Anonymous 31.03.2017
If you are lucky enough to have a Warwick bass but dont have a brass nut fitted then this is the perfect upgrade! Now you will have a more even tone between fretted and open notes as, like the frets on you Warwick, this nut is also brass.
These brass Just a Nut IIIs are more durable than the Tedur versions as well. They also look great! Though you may need to give them a bit of a polish to get it looking it's best :-)

Quality nut and massive improvement over standard plastic versions
bassment73 18.10.2015
I installed this on a 2004 German Warwick Corvette to replace a plastic/composite (Tedur) just-a-nut 2 that had broken on my bass.

The brass not is solid, looks classy and has improved both sustain and clarity on the instrument. Installing was easy too, just a dab of superglue!
