Bought this for my girlfriend who's saxophonist, she played it rightaway with an alto reed. As this is a handcrafted wood instrument, don't expect it to sound right all the time, but it's very good overall.

I already had the "plastci version", this bamboo is a good upgrade.
for me it is better Bb because its allow a little more room for my big fingers.
And I love the smoky smell/taste of this instrument.. nothing you can "hear", but something interesting if you believe in your "connection" with the instrument you play...
