I have bought this pad to replace TP70 that came with DTX402k.
The original pad has only one zone but can actually give two sounds, regular snare and rim shot (when above certain threshold).
This one allows to play face shot, rim shot and clicks.
What is not stressed in DTX402k manual is that it uses a different mounting mechanism than TP70 that uses 38 mm tube.
For the TP70S I had to buy an extra hexagonal pin pad holder (something like this: ).
In general I'm happy but the upgrade from TP70 is not that big and if you can afford you should go straight to DTX452k .
