This is a review after 7 months of owning the cymbal.
About the cymbal - the sound is medium bright (not too bright), and the thickness is medium-thin - perfect for crashing on it. I really liked the sound of the cymbal, especially considering the price, however it sounded almost identical to a Zultan Caz 17" crash that i ordered on the same shippment (even their sound samples sound similar!). That bugged me a little, but i still loved it. It can be used in every genre i could imagine - really versatile.
Now onto the downsides - my first RB crash cracked along the groove near the bell after 5 months. This was my first cracked cymbal in 11 years of playing drums. Besides the crack - the cymbal had a very noticeable dent since day one, as if someone were to run through it with a screwdriver.
Thomann replaced the cymbal no questions asked, and in a very timely manner, the WHOLE process took just one week! Great customer service.
The replacement's sound was significantly different - sounded more heavy. I liked that because now my crashes sounded differentely. However, this cymbal looked way worse than the first one - the outer groove was messed up almost throughout the whole cymbal - one part looked like it was going to crack really soon - the defected groove was really prominent, easily felt while running through it with a finger (probably a B stock?). I have since returned the cymbal and opted for a money back.
Advise for buyers - inspect the cymbal thoroughly and search for grooves that are a lot darker (too deep). Despite that it is a great crash cymbal, and you cant really beat the price.
