I've had three sets of excellent AKG141 headphones for several years and, while still functional, they had deteriorated due to wear and tear. Cables had got strained, leather-effect vinyl had become sticky and was leaving black residue on clients' ears (yuck!), and foam inserts were crumbling. They had cost quite a bit so I was reluctant to bin them in favour of new ones. However, each time I gave them to client I was noticing little things that were less than satisfactory. As a general rule, I tr to buy good equipment that can be repaired as I believe it's more responsible and better for the planet. So, it's great to find replacement parts and be able to give them a whole new lease of life - nice one, Thomann!
