Cheap but compatible with all instruments.
Anonymous 13.12.2016
I bought a lot of these as I was making up a loom for the band as an experiment and wanted to use cheap plugs. Of the six cables I made up only two of them worked. I checked the cables were properly soldered and they were. On closer inspection it seems there is a very subtle difference in the shape of the valley in the tip of the jack plug. This means that it doesn't make a connection with some sockets. Here is the list:
Allen & Heath QU16, 6x all worked well YES
Electric fiddle NO
Bazouki NO
"Neutrik Rean NYS 2203 P" female sockets 2x NO
Plastic chassis mount mono jack socket YES
Acoustic guitar. YES

Some of these worked if they were pulled back slightly after insertion but in the end I had to change all of those ends for a different model plug. However I am continuing to use these on the other instruments and they are sill working well.
Maybe I was unlucky with having worn jack sockets although the Neutrik female sockets were new. Maybe it was a bad batch but that seems unlikely.
I don't like to give a bad review when everyone else's is so positive but for me these plugs were not really fit for purpose.

This is a very reliable jack plug. The connection is very well designed, alllowing cable wire to be inserted and soldered into holes, instead of just ordinary contact points found on normal plugs. I like these best over neutrik.

Amphenol, the brand which defeated Neutrik
Arpie 07.11.2014
I used the straight type of these jack plugs first time. Previously I used the angled type ones which are perfect.
After the Neutrik brand this is the only jack plug (and maybe Hicon) I would purchase. It has style, elegant, not too big, easy to disassemble or assemble. Very easy to solder, the rubber boot fits perfectly on the cable. (I used Cordial CIK 122 cable, which is about 5.8-6mm in diameter) The cable fixing claws are fine, wide enough to add proper grip to the cable, easy to bend them (with pliers of course).

It's a shame that Thomann does not sell the black version of these. (ACPM-GB or the gold plated one ACPM-GB-AU) They are look even more sexy than the grey ones! Hopefully after reading my review they well put the black ones onto their product range!

Great, Solid Connectors
Martin2601 29.03.2019
I have made a lot of custom looms and instrument cables using these connectors (both using the balanced TRS and unbalanced TS versions).

They are slightly narrower than the Neutrik jacks so fit better when being used in close spaced sockets.

Soldering is very easy and they have held up well with weekly gigging and rehearsals. I tend to buy these over Neutriks now as they are cheaper.

The only slight downside is that they can unscrew over time. For most people, this shouldn't be a problem as they are easy to re-tighten.

They look good, are solid and have no discernable effect on audio quality.
