Precise and versatile

The AMS Neve 8803 is a fantastic stereo equaliser that instantly brings a kind of "hi-fi" quality to whatever you use it on.
The broad frequency range of each band with an adjustable Q setting makes the EQ ideal for surgical frequency correction in recording, mixing or mastering or for broader strokes that affect larger areas.
The shelf options are incredibly useful and musical as well whilst the filters add that extra useful parameter.
This EQ isn't as colourful as other units, however it does have an inherent colour particularly in the low frequencies. The highs can sound harsh at times when boosted with a bell filter, so I tend to prefer the shelf option.
Larger dials would certainly make things easier to handle, but with so many options onboard, it would be hard to see how that could happen on a unit of this size.

It took me a few sessions to appreciate how useful this equaliser is and now it is part of my regular work flow for correcting certain ranges whilst enhancing others simultaneously.
With so many options, the Neve 8803 is ideal as a primary equaliser, after which a more colourful unit might further enhance your sonic sculpture.
Highly recommended.

Incredible EQ for recording, mixing, and mastering
J. Smith 05.06.2020
The AMS Neve 8803 is an incredible equalizer. This is my first analog equalizer and the first day I used it I was completely impressed by how it sounds especially when applying additive or subtractive equalization. The price is excellent as well. Pair this with a really good stereo preamp and your recordings will sound rich and dynamic.

Thomann gave me incredible service and extremely quick shipping. I live here in the United States and I received my package within the specified time.

Love it
Christos Pappas 07.04.2022
I bought it 2-3 months ago for my new recording studio and combine it with the R.Neve Portico ii master bus processor (black). Really nice Eq all analogue warmth there classy Neve console sound, topies can get bright but not hursh and you can really achieve lots if you fancy that Neve sound, I do..! Nice low end aswell and warmth in low mids. I love it and sounds as expected. The 4 stars on features goes to a stereo link would be nice though the software is easy to use and recall exactly what you had on mixes you back to.

Great service from Thomann also.
