Very nice solution in some specific cases
frederico.de.oliveira.lourenco 16.10.2022
I started to play the violin without shoulder rest, and middle chin rest. When I started to study formally, my professor put me a conventional one. The fact, is that I never been comfortable 100% for 12 years. I've never been able do quit it again, because I have a standard-long neck and I was afraid to screw up my technique. But recently, the normal shoulder rest was "killing" my neck, trapezius and shoulder muscles.

So I ordered the Magic Pad and tried it. The result, was finishing with the most of my muscles tension and obviously having a sound projection upgrade. Technically, I felt the instrument very stable has I didn't for many years and of course it brings goals to intonation and bow, or with less effort.

I think it is a great solution for some middle chin rest players, because you can put it just in the area you need to compensate space between body-instrument. I don't know if it will be my definitive, but it is being very helpful to me at this moment. It's very cheap just be careful about the sticker (not bad idea order an extra).

t
very practical shoulder rest substitute!
tonnen 01.05.2021
I found using a shoulder rest to be prohibitive of a relaxed left shoulder. I decided to try this pad out - it sticks on the violin securely, so I don't have to worry about it shifting or falling away while playing. The fact that I can move it around is very helpful - I can experiment with many different positions. In the end, I think it's not quite enough support *for me*, but that's due to my own body dimensions. Could be just what someone else needs! In terms of the product, I would say I'm totally satisfied with it's quality.

Best for of the type

If you don't use a shoulder rest but are required to wear something that does not allow your violin to rest directly on you collar bone, this works great, it has just enough friction to stay in place.

The adhesive is really good straight out of the package but gets depleted quickly, washing it brings it a back slightly but nothing like it was original, but it is good enough, does not leave residue on the violin.

Further because the adhesive is in the middle of the pad if you don't contact with the center of the pad on your shoulder, for example: only on one edge for example, it can pop off the violin.

I've been using this pad since I stopped using the shoulder rest. My neck is short so for me the shoulder rest was too much. This article just gave me the confidence and support I was looking for, without the limiting possibilities that the shoulder rest was giving me
