Behringer pmp 1680's "De dogs bollocks" when it comes to amplifier's
Roger610 27.07.2013
I Recently purchased the behringer 1680's to power a set off Bose 802's and a pair of the Bose 305's base bins. I also have the Bose towers or 'Twin towers' that I normally gig with, but I always loved the thump and quality that I still can only be got from the old 802's..... Anyway got the behringer after doing a small bit of research and I was BLOWEN away with the quality and performance of the behringer 1680. Anyone that knows the Bose 802's knows that you need an external controller box in order to get sound from the 802's but because the behringer has a built in crossover, I don't need the external controller. The "power" from the behringer is truly phonemail and a word of "warning" ..... Be very careful of the button that allows you to change from 800w to 1600w with the flick of a switch, if your volumes on your channel and your master is not at zero..... I MEAN ZERO...,!!!! It will blow the hell out of your pa system, I don't care what you have this behringer will blow it up... Again anyone that knows the old Bose 802's with the old base bins... Know's that each bin alone weights 50kg. There a pig of yoke to be lifting. ( yes.. I'm Irish ) but seriously believe me, this is a commercial 1600w amp not a sissy domestic model... It is very powerful, if there is anything to bitch about.... I think that switch should have a cover over it, in case someone hit it by accident... Finally, if you like me and you love manuals... (Not) I can gladly tell you that mine is still wrapped up in its shiny plastic cover, its that simple to operate. As I always say to friends of mine who need help setting up there equipment... I shout loudly RTFM... They ask.. What de hell does that mean... I say ( Read The Fucken Manual )

Better to spend more than less

Well to say I am a good customer regards Thomann and I think they are the best to buy from. Most of the time I am looking for a bargain and i have learnt over the years that I am fooling myself. I bought this thinking I was getting a good deal but you get what you pay for and I am sad to say not much. It seems to me Behringer is not quality as this unit broke down more than once and in fairness to Thomann they fixed it , it took two or 3 back and forward posting but then it broke again and is out of warrantee and is gathering dust in the corner of my shed. The lightS come on but it clips out and caught me out on a gig nite so i hate it now and will probably try get it fixed and sell it on. It never really worked properly looking back on it . Buy quality as it only come back to bite you buying crap.

Well worth it !
Ted D 14.04.2020
I bought this as an urgent stop-gap mixer amp when my rather old Yamaha amp suddenly ceased to function & I had gigs to fulfil. I've waited to review until I had used quite a few times and so..... My view now is: This truly has exceeded my expectations in all respects & represents outstanding value for money. Even though my old amp is now reparied, the PMP1680 has since become the number one choice. Great product in my personal view.
