Basic, functional patch bay with some signal loss
Zaps 02.04.2022
I bought this as a replacement for a previous unit Given away over ten years ago... mostly because of the cost and the lack of options in the 1/4in jack category. Its continued existence in the Behringer line shows it’s a workhorse.

The switching options for normalled, half normalled etc are convenient if you put the unit at the top of an open rack.

So it’s functional and practical - lots of switching and routing options and lots of channels. HOWEVER: I did a null test to see what kind of signal degradation is happening through this unit and, of course, there’s a lot. So you get what you’re paying for - a convenient patching system which (for me anyway) opens up the options with analog gear, but you’re compromising the signal path when you use it. Efficiency vs quality, your choice....

Not convinced

I bought this as Thomann stopped selling the Samson S-patch Plus which is a solid product.
I thought this would be okay.
Setting up is pretty straight forward & good. The switches to achieve this are on the top of the unit so you don't need to take it apart which is good in my opinion. You just need to remember to either leave room above the unit or be sure you can slide it out from the rack if you ever need to make some changes.
The jacks are slightly wobbly, which didn't concern me too much.
However, after a month of light use the unit has started to generate noise & crackles when being patched. I need to double check that it is this unit that is responsible (pretty sure though). I will then be contacting Thomann for an alternative.
Maybe its just a one off but like the heading states I'm not convinced about this product.
Bring back the Samson ;-)

This is the fourth I bought

I am very happy with this patch bay. I currently own 4, and they hold every I/O in my studio without any problem at all. You should handle with care though because they wobble a bit.

You can't get a more convenient 1/4'' TRS patch, and can't get a cheaper one than this.

At first I didn't expect good quality, for I though "for the price, who care? I can replace the whole thing for the price of one single jack in a competitor's equivalent." After a couple of years, I still haven't experienced any issue. The quality is rather good, actually.

My only qualm is that the (super convenient) mode switches are on the top part, and can be accidentally changed when inserting this bar into a tightly packed rack.
