Does more than you know
Andres K. 26.06.2019
The MD-500 does a huge amount of things, possibly more than it is good for it. While it is indeed possible to make sounds from scratch choosing the modulation type and tweaking all the parameters, it was really hard for me to get good sounds out of it that way. Picking one of the existing sounds to tweak works much better.

Given the complexity of the product, some niggles are to be expected: some of the presets do not work as intended after the first use, have to switch to a different bank and back (delayed tremolo, for example). Hopefully it will be remedied with a FW update later.

Good but still 'digital'
byben 22.01.2018
Very handy and practical pedal, it can save a lot of place on a pedalboard but the sound is not as good as all the pedals it replaces...as ever I think. It's blue so I expected a better chorus, the phaser is nice, vibe correct, the flanger not very good, overtone mode is a good surprise, very quick response. The tremolo's are correct but not organic...

Conc; if you play with the need of many sounds(cover), this pedal is a good choice, it sounds right. If you want the best sound possible with the best feeling, buy analog pedals.
(I was rude with the chorus maybe cause I compared with Fulltone Choral/flange, CE-2w and Providence Anadime).

Great pedal!
Buhin 04.11.2019
This pedal has easily replaced Eventide mod factor for my profesional gigs. From the box, all sounds are great and USABLE. Very rare to find this days! Expression pedal can be good bonus but also without it Boss has great shortcuts and functions for dialing for example fast or slow rotary in one patch. Easy interface, great sounds and flexibility. Recomend highly.

Fantastic Sound and flexibility ...... but

Really solid build and amazing quality of sound.

I did have trouble creating unique sounds from about half of the patches. This may be down to my inexperience.
