L
Probably the best Windjammers for lavalier microphones!
LutherD 07.09.2024
I use the Bubblebee windbubbles (various sizes) with a variety of microphones, including the DPA 4060, LOM Usi, and FEL Clippy microphones. They perform excellently. The Bubblebee windbubbles create a little pocket of still air around the microphone, and further jam any wind movent with fabric and fur. The windbubbles are very transparent, with only a minute drop in the higher frequencies, which is usually not noticeable. (almost all windjammers do this, the Bubblebees have some of the best performance all round). The windbubbles also stay solidly on the lavalier microphone (provided you pic the correct size), even when moving a lot or travelling. I use mine mostly in drop rigs, and can attest that they dry quite quickly even after heavy rain, and are not prone to matting even after continuous cycles of rain and then drying. The fact that the windbubbles come in a variety of colors help enormously with hiding them in plain view, be it on a costume, or using the brown windbubbles to be inconspicuous in the bush.

The two rubber strings help with securing the windbubble on the microphone (though it still can be a bit tricky, as it usuallyis with lavalier windjammers).

Several of my windbubbles are a few years old now, and have been through a lot. They still work perfectly.

All in all, these are the best lavalier windjammers I have used, and I can wholeheartedly recommend them.
