This mouthpiece fits the Thomann FH 600 G Bb-Flugelhorn perfectly.

The sound is full-bodied and warm. However, I have trouble playing quietly with it. It needs a certain amount of air to hit the threshold of tone and it's tricky to fade in quietly. Intonation is good and it's comfortable to play for a long time. Build quality is excellent.

It's my current favourite, but I will keep searching for something better - like the Bach Mega Tone that slots in better, plays quietly better, but just doesn't fit my Flugelhorn lead pipe properly.

Great "standard" one

Can get rich and/or deeper sound easiler in spite of its nice response. Can prevent load for playing than the other similar-spec mouthpieces. However, not expensive nor cheap sound. Since the difference between this silver-plated and gold-plated is almost in touch of feeling, and gold-plated is too smooth for me, this lower price silver-plated was good for me. Compared to typical trumpet mouthpieces, the throat diameter is clearly wide, and the inner-cup slope is highly gentle with deeper cup, so the play feeling must be different from trumpet's. So need attention if trumpeters. However, this DW mouthpiece really provides easy control for playing flugelhorn.

+ mellow, hot, velvet like sound...
+/- good for 3c (V. Bach sizes) and wider mouthpiece (2 or 1 1/2) trumpet players...
-/+ not so easy on high register, but THAT SOUND like VELVET...mmm :)

Perfect first Flugel mouthpiece

Got this as the acomplimant to a Thomann Flugel I bought second hand. The mouthpiece has a suitably deep cup for a great tone and easy pedal notes which I love on flugel.
I know people that have said this is more of an orchestral mouthpiece, however I have no issue playing jazz standards and Ballads on this mouthpiece. Maybe the high range is limited a tad, however that's to be completely expected with flugelhorns in general, and you can still get up there just with a little more effort than you would usually.
Brilliant sound quality as always with Denis Wick
