I've bought this mute for Euphonium because I'm currently living in student housing and wanted to continue practicing. It mutes the sound thoroughly causing not one of my neighbours to even hear a thing when I practice when using it. There is some tuning issues for some notes when playing, so it is better for practice (due to the very good muting) than for concerts. Very content!!!

Perfect practise mute
Anonymous 30.07.2015
Wow, this is the perfect practice mute, the sound is realy very quiet, not Hisper like, bud talk (silent talk) like :) and the sound is still pretty nice, off course no bass bud so quiet ... Very nice indeed if you ask the neighbours :) Also the pressurs ( blow back ) is not strong at all unlike my trumpet mute. So simply just a perfect practice mute :)

Great mute, fits in my gig bag, is light, and the tuning is really good. It plays a bit sharp on lower tones but it has a pretty even response. My new fav gadget

An average mute
Anonymous 08.02.2017
It fits in the bell inside the case/gigbag.
It reduces the volume by about 10dB.
With the mute, the notes are much sharper, especially the lower registers.
The mute leaves some black spots in the bell :(
Also, as the mute is made of metal, it's a dent magnet.
if you don't need the mute to travel along inside the euphonium case/gigbag. You may consider other options.
