Outstanding Mute!

This is just a great all-round straight mute for trumpet. It could be used in any setting, orchestra, jazz combo, big band etc. The reason for this is the copper bottom; you still get that piercing straight mute tone but you can also get really dark and intimate with this thing, especially when playing softly in the lower register. There is very little resistance so playing loud/high requires no extra effort than normal. Also the tuning is not effected, at least not as much as other straight mutes. I never need to pull out my slide when using this mute. I would really recommend this mute, especially for people who might need to play in a variety of settings and only want to spend money on one straight mute!

Great mute at a great price

After some research, I decided to buy a copper-bottom straight mute. As expected, it produces a very warm and rich tone. The only downside is that it is a bit heavier than other mutes, but it probably only requires getting used to.

Pro Kontra Dämpfer

Über den klang braucht man nicht meckern die Verarbeitung ist auch sehr Ok. stabil verarbeitet die Korkflächen zum Schutz gegen mechanisches Beschädigen des Instruments. was mich Persönlich ein bißchen stört ist das der Teil aus kupfer ziemlich stark oxidiert und schon beim bloßem Anfassen beim Reinstecken oder herausnehmen aus dem Instrument muß man zwangsläufig den Kupferteil anfassen und die abbdrücke der Finger sieht man fast sofort und diese lassen sich nur mühsam auspolieren Angeblich soll gerade dieser Kupferteil den guten sound ausmachen ist dadurch auch viel teurer als ein Dämpfer der komplett aus aluminium besteht.

mein nächster dämpfer wird wohl ohne Kupfer sein !!!
