Add a bit more punch to your P Bass
Fred739 06.10.2015
I got these to replace the stock pickup on my American Special P Bass, primarily because I was getting a clicky sound every time my fingers made contact with the exposed pole pieces whilst playing.
The pole pieces are covered on these DiMarzio pickups, so that solved that problem. However, I also got an improvement in overall sound. There seems to be a bit more bottom end, not too much, just a bit more warmth maybe?; and the harmonics seem better too. They seem to have a slightly higher output than standard p bass pickups, but the P bass sound is still retained. I see these as a definite upgrade and would recommend them.

Excellent and hot!
Redback 13.12.2018
Great pickups. I used them on an Ibanez GSR200 where I modified the electronics and made it passive in ultrajazz (2 x volume, 2 x tone) configuration.

PROs: very hot pickups, easy to install and solder thanks to thin wires. I used the dual-sound option (classic split, or 2 separate halves) and it increased the tonal possibilities significantly. The foam that comes in the box can be used under the pickups.

CONs: none so far.

The good stuff...
Techno Witch 16.07.2019
Pickups are a matter of taste, I very much like these. High output with a good rich bass tone and balanced tones around the fret board (P-Bass + round wound strings). I play both pick and finger. The solid cover is what made me choose these and a good choice it was. The pickups themselves are good quality.

GE
Incredibly hot, growly pickup
Greg E. 11.09.2015
This is the pickup that comes as standard in the Yamaha Attitude (Billy Sheehan) bass. As such, it has all the growl that can be expected of such a beast of a bass. Sparkly it is not, but if it's powerful mids and rich bass and harmonics that leap out that you are after, as well as volume that will best almost any active bass, then this is your weapon.

Oddly, for such a powerful pickup design that is jam packed full of pole peices, it can cope with being very close to the strings. I use mine as a makeshift ramp, with no detriment to tone.
