Cracking sounding Pickup
Matthew599 27.05.2013
Installed in my Ibanez JS100 along with a DiMarzio PAF Joe and what a great pair they make.

The Mo Joe really complements the softer sounding PAF Joe and with the toggle switch at the bridge gives a great crunch sound at mild distortion levels. Pushing it through high gain really allows the guitar to sing and gives a real punch when playing tight percussive riffs.

The mids are pushed through nicely offering a counter to my often scooped played EQ on the amp.

The pickup was easy to install following the DiMarzio custom wiring diagrams for the Ibanez. Altogether an excellent upgrade adding a much needed refresh to an ageing budget guitar.

G
A Superb Pickup - Not Just For Satch Fans!
Gabriel-Nacu 10.06.2020
After running through a plethora of stock/boutique pickups for my strat style guitars, I was amazed to find that the DiMarzio Mo Jo was one of the very best that worked for me.

I generally play a mix of rock/jazz-funk, so I needed a pickup that could go from soaring lead guitar to slightly dirty funk when coupled with the neck on a HH strat through a Marshall/Plexi style amp.

It has plenty of mids and bass with an articulate but smooth top end (as opposed to a Seymour 59 for example) despite not being a super high output pickup. It sounds great clean or distorted with some decent coil-tap tones to boot, as I found myself loving the combination with a PAF Joe in the neck.

Honestly this is a fantastic pickup for the money. You don't have to be a Joe Satriani fan to enjoy this pickup, as its one of his most balanced and lowest bridge humbuckers to date. DiMarzio once again prove you don't have to spend "Boutique" prices to get a great sounding pickup!

Exceptional sound
Anonymous 26.04.2015
I bought this and a PAF Pro to re-awaken my old Ibanez S from the depths of slumber with it's ok stock pickups. Well what a difference these have made!

Installation was reasonably straight forward (although I was replacing more than just pickups). Be aware that my Ibanez stock pickups had the white wire as hot and the red as coil split whereas Dimarzio are the other way round.

In the bridge position this pickup adds a real bite with a good midrange punch. When clean it is almost too bright but with overdrive it's great for crunch rhythms and with more gain it really screams and the mids and highs give great harmonics and can really cut through the mix with solos.

Almost Satriani...!
Donny 07.07.2013
Anyone buying this hoping to sound instantly like Satch may be disappointed (!) but this pup does have a much better tone than my standard RG bridge pup (S7 or S8 I can't remember). Much fatter sound which complements the standard RG neck pup well. I added a coil split volume pot to give me the option of series / parallel & it works nicely for clean stuff.

The F spacing (51mm) is perfectly sized for an RG in the bridge position.
