The snare is seriously heavy with its 20 layers of wood, as consequence it needs a stiff snare stand, especially if you play hard. The supplied heads are cheap ones and the substitution of both of them will improve drastically the sound, which however need to be perfectly tuned to give its best. Sound is woody and warm, maybe more adapt for blues and rock players rather than funky, where a more brilliant sound is generally required.
I am using in medium tuning for a fat sound. I love the results, despite the volume is lower than expected. Overall a solid and well made product, which combine the higher pitch of 13" and the full-body sound of a 07". The snare strainer mechanism is very solid, smooth and quiet. I would definitely recommend it as snare drum for many music genres!

This is a sweet addition to any kit!
I use it as my main snare and I am very pleased. It has a great finish, looks good and has a really nice feel to it, regardless of tuning.
Changing the stock head is strongly recommended. That's why I put four stars on Sound. The snare has great potential but the heads it comes with do not do it justice.

Aus Neugier einfach mal bestellt und absolut positiv überrascht worden. Hier gibt es wirklich eine Menge Snare für kleines Geld.
Klar, mit irgendwelchen High End Snares, kann diese natürlich nicht mehr mithalten, aber Verarbeitung und Hardware sind wirklich grundsolide und besser als man es von so einer günstigen Snare erwarten würde.
