Not ideal

Software is user friendly, although there are issues with using the mic (could be my mic though).
I am a musician and have been playing the guitar for 30 years now. You think you can get a very good ear training software at a fraction of the price of the best ear training course there is around, which is the David Lucas Burge's one (both perfect and relative pitches). You are wrong. Building relative pitch takes months, and it's a long journey anyway. There are no shortcuts. This is a somewhat fun software, but don't be fooled: you will not achieve relative pitch with this method. If you buy this one thinking you will save money, you will instead waste time and you will end up buying the Burge's one anyway, if you are serious about unlocking your ear. I hope this was helpful.

C
Learning sounds and music in a different way!
Capkeyed66 02.08.2018
I did some research on ear training software. As I wanted something to help with relearning music, also as an aid in teaching my ears to relearn sounds.

Earmaster 7, it is a bit different than others; in that, it looks to have a simple menu and screen layout, but don't be fooled by it, as on each page, you have a chance to go in depth. (If you want to). The main menu lets you dip into a subject not in any order.

For me it works, but for others this software may not work for them. As perhaps for some the workflow , maybe a bit frustrating.

In comparison with another brand, EarMaster 7 was cheaper. I did trial the software from EarMaster website, to see if I was happy with it, (limited version), before downloading the full paid software from Thomann website, which was so
Easy and stress free.

So far have had no problems with it, on my computer, but have not tried this on my tablet so unable to give an opinion, as to whether the EarMaster would work on other devices. I would not recommend this on the computer monitor speakers alone, I found that I had much better sound quality through good quality speakers.

Great when you finally set it up
Giuliano D. 13.03.2023
Not a user friendly approach to installing this product, you have to go from one place to another, and then you have a license that needs to be converted to a serial through Plugivery.

It took me a while to get the correct serial since Earmaster didn't provide a clear instruction. After many failed tries to get the serial a web search learned me that Plugivery does not always work with Firefox, so I had to install Chrome and I finally had my serial. I also reported this issue to Thomann.

When I finally had Earmaster set up correctly, I liked how it worked.
The design looks a bit outdated but aside from that I like to use this application, the Customized Exercise part is very helpful for me.

Overall the application is great and it doesn't have loading times or complex/undefined settings. Aside from the activation process, I have no complaints.

Great Stuff

Fantastic minimal design, you can plug any instrument or a microphone to practice. The only issue is that it lags sometimes..it plays the same exercise over and over again or says that you made a mistake when you didn't, but I hope they will fix things with an update.
