Well known EMG-Quality

Great Pickups! I use them in my 5 String tuned in Drop-C with Stainless-Steel-Strings. The Neck-Pickup has a veeery deep Sound and gives you a fat low-End, the Bridge-Pickup is full of Mids and Highs with really much Attack.
I use these Pickups with a Pu-Balance-Poti and turn it a little bit to the Bridge Pick-Up. With a little Bit of Bass-Boost and High-Cut at the EQ of my Amp i get exactly the Sound i want: A loud Low-End with punchy Mids. (I play Metal, mostly). Compared to the Pick-Ups that i used before the EMGs (some China-Stuff i bought with a "Build-Your-Own-Bass"-Kit) the EMG-Tone is very clear and I hear myself much better on Stage than before.

This EMG 40HZ really brought my cheap Dean Edge 09 to life! Very articulate, deep and clear tone. Since it has rails instead of separate pole pieces, it works fine on a 4-string like mine too. But it was a few mm's wider than the original, and I had to do some milling in the bass' body. The solderless installation of the pickup, pots and output jack was a breeze! The wiring diagram for a one pickup volume/tone configuration puts the pickup in series humbucking mode by default. Apparently on the EMG website there are coil switching options described, but I didn't bother. I like it the way it is!
