B
All round good 6 string for the price point
Bilbo391 20.07.2020
I've been playing one of these since 2014 and it's still going strong.

Pros:
- Good Pickups. Nice full range and considering they're passive they're not too noisy.
- Good EQ. Good range on each of the 3 knobs for boost/cut. Would prefer to have Bass/Low Mid/High mid rather than Bass/Mid/treble but it does work nicely and you can get a nice range of tones out of it.
- Really nice neck profile. For me personally the 'U' profile of the neck is super comfy and lets me play the low B without issue. If it was a 'C' profile like fender basses it wouldn't be anywhere near as comfy.
-Tuning. Once the strings have settled into tune after a couple days they just stay there. I've had it where i've played a gig, packed away, left it a week and gone to play another gig and it's still in tune. The neck just stays put!

Cons:
- Battery connector. It was a cheap snap on connector which after about a year broke on me so i had to get it replaced.
- Weight. It is a little on the heavy side but it is a 6 string bass so it's gonna weigh more. It's not unbearable but definitely noticeable.

Overall it's still my go to bass for recording and live. 4.5/5

OK
Not great
Owen K. 24.01.2015
I wanted to be impressed with this Bass, but after playing it now 4 years it's been relegated to a backup instrument only.

The body is made from 5 pieces matched poorly, with a spalted maple top. The neck pocket is shoddily routed, and the recesses where the screws sit are machined roughly. Some of the plastic inserts between the machine heads and their tuners broke and fell out after a few weeks. Additionally after a year of being in a flight case with silica gel to keep everything dry, all the pots began to scratch and fizzle when bring adjusted.

In case you hadn't guessed yet, this is built down to a price.

Lastly, the weight of this is ridiculous. I was physically fatigued at the end of gigs. I bought a Slinger Harness Strap to try to distribute the weight, but even that didn't help. I've switched to a Warwick Corvette Double Buck for my main gigs now, and it's about 1/4 of the weight.

Avoid at all costs.

R
B206 is a great bass guitar by far!
Ronald8655 20.03.2014
I've been looking for a bass guitar to buy for while. I was initially going to get the fender squire bass vi but luckily for me it was not in stock in the uk. I took the leap with this bass and paid a bit more but it was worth the wait and great value for money. I tried it at church on the PA system it had such rich tones and it was loud. We'll done ESP! Very quick delivery from Thomann although Royal Mail could not be bothered to deliver it on Saturday.

C
Workhorse 6-string
Colan 13.08.2022
Weighty. Arrived with one knob absent- found it in the bag. Very high action - but every player to their taste. When action was adjusted to suit the tenth fret was high- creating buzz. There was a kink in the fretboard around that position- rectified by means of the double truss-rod. Once set up to suit it plays well and sounds pretty good through a Fender Rumble 500. Controls are firm and not over-sensitive or complicated. Six-string basses have a role to play- particularly for guitarist/bassists- but the top string is tuned to C . So- a good bass for the money and I'm keeping it along with my ESP LTD 5-string. Just one huge niggle- but not a fault of the bass. If you don't like round-wound strings then you're in deep trouble. The bass requires super-longs and Thomann sell just two variants of round-wounds. I had to search for a 6-set of super-long flats from America and eventually found some- at great expense. Good luck with that.
