Battery-powered speaker with DSP

The Electro-Voice Everse 8 is the brand's first portable, battery-powered full-range speaker. Equipped with a replaceable lithium-ion battery, it allows for effortless swaps without the need for tools. This two-way loudspeaker features an 8" woofer with EV's proprietary SST (Signal Synchronized Transducers) waveguide technology and a 1" titanium-dome tweeter, ensuring a clear, well-defined sound. It delivers a frequency range of 50Hz to 20kHz, with enhanced low-end response thanks to its dedicated bass-reflex system. The Class-D amplifier provides 400W peak power, reaching a maximum SPL of 121dB. Developed by Dynacord, the integrated DSP-powered mixer includes four channels with EQ and studio-grade effects, all of which can be controlled remotely via an external app. The package includes an AC power cable and a weather-resistant control panel cover for added durability in outdoor environments.

Bluetooth connectivity and app control

The EV Everse 8 supports up to four simultaneous input signals. It features two hybrid XLR/jack combo inputs, plus a stereo input via either a mini-jack or Bluetooth. An XLR line output allows for signal transmission to an additional speaker, and two Everse 8 units can be paired wirelessly via Bluetooth to create a true stereo setup. The effects section can be easily toggled on or off using an optional footswitch. For convenient remote control, the QuickSmart mobile app enables full access to the digital mixer's features, making it easy to adjust EQ, effects, and levels from a smartphone or tablet. A built-in safety limiter and automatic power-saving mode further enhance battery efficiency.

Ideal for mobile DJs, event hosts, and rental companies

Designed for small private events, weddings, parties, and corporate functions, the Everse 8 provides sufficient coverage as a standalone unit for audiences of up to 40 people. For larger crowds of up to 80 people, a stereo pair is recommended. The current black version blends seamlessly into most setups. Rental companies will appreciate its on-board 48V phantom power, allowing the use of condenser microphones. Additionally, wireless microphone systems requiring 12-15V DC (500mA) can be powered directly from the speaker's rear panel, eliminating the need for additional power adapters. The integrated USB-C charging port offers extra convenience for charging mobile devices on the go. With a rugged yet lightweight polypropylene housing, measuring just 40cm in height and weighing only 7.6kg, the Everse 8 is designed for easy and strain-free transport.

About Electro-Voice

Electro-Voice was founded in 1927 and has been dedicated to building sound reinforcement systems and microphones since the 1930s. The firm, originally based in Indiana, USA, is considered one of the industry pioneers and has developed many new technologies still in use today. For example, their hum-cancelling coil was not only a milestone for microphone construction, but also was at the origin of the humbucker pickups still used in many guitars. In the long history of the company, Electro-Voice has constantly expanded its offer and today sells a wide range of products for sound reinforcement tasks from entry to professional levels.

Live vocals, conferences, line delay, and fitness classes

The EV Everse 8 includes an automatic feedback suppression system (AFS), making it an ideal choice for vocalists in rehearsal spaces and live settings, where it can help eliminate unwanted ringing and maximise sound clarity. In fitness and workout sessions, the built-in ducking function automatically lowers music playback volume when speaking into a connected microphone. The Everse 8 performs equally well as a delay speaker for larger venues, adjusting coverage where needed. The versatile cabinet design can be used floor-standing, wedge-style (with a 30° or 50° tilt), or mounted on a speaker stand. The compact format of the EV Everse 8 is particularly well-suited for conferences and small meeting rooms. Battery performance is equally adaptable - providing up to 12 hours of runtime at moderate levels, or over six hours at full output. The USB-C charging input ensures convenient recharging, and the weather-resistant control panel cover protects the unit when outdoors, even under light rain.

Skip the rest go for the best !!!

So first of all a little description of what I use it for.
Im A singer/acoustic guitarist mainly doing covers of folk/pop/rock and more than 25 Years on the stage.
Been through most of the compact systems out there!
My experiences
Bose L1 Compact:
Not enough headroom if the crowd is a bit loud and you need to crank it + needs a mixer in front of it to really sound good and also has no reverb built in !
Bose S1 pro:
Again Not enough headroom and I always had a rattle from the 6.5 woofer when playing drop D
Fender Acoustic Go:
Sounds great for the guitar no headroom issues but never got my vocals the way I wanted to ( always A bit boxy ) + if you like me have a low baritone kinda voice there was just no presence/attack on the low end notes.
HK Era 1:
Same as The Fender but also mine at least had a gain problem on the mic and would tend to clip if I wanted it loud + had a lot of hiss at higher volumes.
So now to the Everse 8:
Simply blown away by the sound projection on this thing !
App is stable and have had no connection issues at all.
Effects are solid ( at least the hall/reverbs ) don't use anything else.
Loads of headroom and completely silent (no Hiss ) even at high volumes.
I use a At 5400 condenser mic / and the fishman blend system and can sit 1 m in front 1.5 m to the side of it at really loud volumes without any feedback.
sound is Crisp, warm and the lows come across powerful and tight on my voice!
Really Can't recommend this thing enough is you are a singer songwriter or solo performer !
Simply stunning.

M
Perfekt für Straßenmusik
Mannec 23.12.2023
