Goto pickups for vintage tele tone
Anonymous 14.05.2015
As a guitar and amp tech I see hundreds of pickups a year through my shop. There are a lot of choices out there for Telecaster including many lower priced and a few at the higher end. These are certainly not the cheapest option, although you get what you pay for in this case. True vintage construction leads to a classic tele pickup with the chimy twang attack on the bridge and deep sploosh watery tone of the neck lead to that classic tele vibe. My personal choice for ALL tele types are these or the texas specials and depending on whether the wood is Swamp Ash, Alder or Northern Hardrock Ash these work very well in all options. Just great pickups.

Top-notch Vintage Reproduction
RobX 06.10.2019
Put these into a red Vintera Tele, neck a big improvement over stock, bridge more subtle but overall much fuller sounding without being "hot".They are better than I remember the last set of '52 fender pickups I used,a mid 90's set that were a bit lifeless.
Quality of construction is excellent with just that little "roughness" which looks more authentic than some of the more "boutique" competition.Fenders own replacement pickups are really getting it right recently...

Fender Vintage Tele Pickup Set - Real Deal
Robert814 26.05.2015
Yeah - these are the Real Deal in Telecaster pickups! (Marked 52 on the underside)(At least if you want the original sound) The clean crispness is all there, the unique twang, but without boosted output and overdrive and without boosted mids. It all depends on what you want. If you want boosted mids and more bite the Nocaster '51 set may be a better choice, or higher hotter output try the Texas specials. Fender give these a rating on a scale of 1-10 for bass, middle, treble of 7-4-4 Neck and again 7-4-4 Bridge.
