Works well... mostly

Works really well as just an audio interface. I really appreciate having a mute button on it but I wish that the software would work.
From what I've found the interface needs USB 3.1 or higher for the software to work. Others have said that you need to have version 1.3 or lower (which can be hard to get since Focusrite doesn't have any older versions listed).
The headphone output does also have monitoring on by default and it can only be turned off in the software, which doesn't work for me.

He does his job!

For its functions, it is a completely justified purchase. The only negative is the quality of the output sound in headphones and speakers. No compressor settings. Because of this, a pumping effect is observed.

Good for specific use cases

Pros: A lot of gain* (see cons), good value for money at £39, USB-C shares power and connection so you can plug it in and use it with iPhone which is cool, phantom power, ability to capture camera audio, built in vocal enhancing effects processed on device*

Cons: Gain is not clean after a certain point. For it to work with SM7B there is technically enough gain but at near maxed out I get hissing on my voice or digital clipping if I push it too far, so I bought a cloud lifter and problem went away. if you have a loud speaking voice / for singing this may not be a problem. Build quality is just ok. I don't think the pre-amp is anything special. On device effects don't sound that great compared to something professional like Izotope Nectar

At this sub-£40 price point though it is great value though (Focusrite RRP of £150 is bananas) so if it fits the bill go for it, just don't expect best in class

Decent interface

It's good enough for a simple setup, just beware that Vocaster Hub is laggy on windows 11, but you can just use a driver and it will work fine, or something like Voicemeeter Banana. Good for beginners it's plug and play!
