I have the Francois louis tenor sax ligature in small and i use it with the philtone tribue ltd. It couldnt properly tighten the reed in place since the philtone mouthpiece is really small.
this expander made my ligature smaller and when i use it with f.e. a vandoren or a daddario reed it works perfectly fine. With the francois louis reeds wich are rigotti the expander seems to be a little to big.
In that price it needs to have a smaller expander also or at least two halfs in order for you to choose what you need.

Now between us before i bought this expander i was using a normal slim nut and it worked as perfect as the expander if not better. but i agree that it didnt look so clean as the expander.
