Affordable and easy to connect

The Fun Generation PL 112 A is an active full-range loudspeaker with a particularly large woofer for this price point; it is the second largest of the PL series, which is aimed squarely at beginners. But the size of the integrated speakers is not the only difference between the various models: Like all of the speakers in the PL series, the PL 112 A has a built-in media player with USB input, SD card slot, and Bluetooth interface, which can be used as an alternative to a line-in. However, the PL 112 – like its bigger brother, the PL 115 – has two microphone inputs with XLR and jack sockets, where the smaller PL 108 and PL 110 have one microphone and one AUX input; in addition, they all come with volume and equaliser buttons integrated into the media player. All models are equipped with a locking speaker twist output for a passive speaker, so that an additional speaker can be integrated into an existing sound system.

Media player included

The Fun Generation PL 112 A has so many ways of playing music that it will turn any house party into a night at the club. The media player built into back of the unit can be used to access an SD card, and besides its little keypad it can also be operated remotely, making MP3 and WAV files an option too. The Bluetooth interface, of course, is also ideal for playing music from a smartphone, although users can also connect their music source to the 3.5mm mini-jack socket, the volume of which can be adjusted separately. A dynamic microphone can be connected to the XLR input. Whatever the source, after the signal has passed through a two-band equaliser in the master section, the 12" bass speaker and 1" compression driver go to work. If the levels are too high, there is a dedicated clipping LED. The entire package generates a maximum sound pressure level of 114dB and weighs 11.5kg (25.3lbs), with two handles to make it easier to carry the speaker to the venue.

The Fun Generation PL 112 A is an entry-level speaker suitable for smaller venues – for audiences and for monitoring – at an almost unbeatable price. Its extensive connectivity makes it equally at home in the living room or in schools, and its numerous inputs will provide every guest at social gatherings the chance to share their favourite songs with everyone. What is more, the line output means it can even be used for recording small bands' first live gigs. On top of that, there is a microphone input for MCing, or indeed for longer presentations: This fanless speaker is so quiet that it's easy to focus on what is being said. Of course, solo entertainers can connect both a keyboard and a vocal microphone. And to bring the speaker up the right height for audiences who are mostly on their feet, it can be placed on an optional stand (a speaker cover, also sold separately, is available too, for protection while on tour).

Great but they do feedback

I bought this as a spare speaker or a speaker at weddings for if I don't need a full p.A and just require a 1 speaker set up for a small space. This speaker is perfect for this, however it has no vocal effects, but the overall sound built in sound isnt bad at all with an option for bass, mid and treble button. There's also a bluetooth option so you can play background music from your phone which is also a good feature, and it comes with a remote. I wouldn't use these speakers for a monitor or full p.A as they do feedback a touch (from my personal experience) but they are excellent as a back up or just a very small setup. Pretty loud and bassy when you play music through it too, good clean sound!

Just got the speaker, first impression very light and small. Does not look like 12", but after few hours of checking trying all inputs and possibilities, decision is GOOD CHOICE for smaller events in smaller premises up to 50 people. Sound is good with possibility of changing EQ. Bluetooth is fantastic just pair and play no delay at all. Sound is missing deep bass, but if you have small sub that's an option. Remote works great (just from behind of speaker), some delay when you change track to other, when it's playing from SD card. Radio and Bluetooth lower volume than direct input. I like it :)

Bought as cheap backup (monitor) set (together with Fun Generation PL112 P) when I need sound outside main room. They are not loud, but enough for my need. Big plus is Bluetooth, which works perfect. So I can use this set also as home party set without ton of cables and other equipment. I only need phone with Spotify :)
Build quality is average, materials ar very cheap, so overall - it looks very cheap, but in fact (when you look at price), it is very cheap. You get what you pay for.

Fun Generation PL 112 A acoustics are excellent, as I previously wrote I use active and passive speakers together. According to PL 112A, when I connected everything, I was pleasantly surprised, an excellent sound is a combination of low and high frequencies, as well as bass. The built-in player works USB plays. I also checked microphones. and connected an acoustic gita. I liked everything, as well as the combination of price and quality of this acoustics. Thanks to the THOMANN team for help in choosing and fast ordering.
