Why there is not digital input?

The 8020-8320 is a little classic, overall when paired with a Genelec sub.
This monitor have an internal DAC and DSP that works, probably, at 48/24. I said probably cause Genelec don't said nothing about the DAC (?more accurate information is confidential?? ). In this model there is not digital input (AES) so the sound is converted D-A by your interface and again A-D-A by the 8320. This, to my opinion, is a non-sense. It would be enough to have also an analog input giving the possibility to the customer to choose (other brands have this option). For those interested in listening to their own DAC instead of the Genelec's ones there is on the market the old "classic line" without any converter that cost significantly less and sounds great. Instead of the GLM correction software there are many good alternatives.

H
Utterly impeccable for the cost

I'm using these with a 7350 APM (which is required to get the bass extension if you're doing anything below 100Hz), and the quality of sound is flawless. Precise, sharp, revealing, clear. The GLM system and room correction just simply works and provides fantastic control over the monitors, without making standalone use impractical. Lack of AES input is the only problem, fixed by moving to the 8330s. Standalone these lack enough power for high levels of LF but with the 7350 taking everything from 85Hz down there's really no problem at normal listening levels.

Perfect sound

Nothing to say about the audio quality, it's really impressive considering dimensions. You can also make it perfect with GLM3. My only doubt is about the supply : the power cable has some difficulty getting into the socket on the monitor (I think it is in a very uncomfortable place) , sometimes the monitor turns off and on again cause the cable is badly attached. I don't know if the problem is just my case or if others have this problem , but i have this problem with the right monitor since i bought them.

I still believe that it is a very high quality product.

Hi,
Also ein ganz kurzer subjektiver Bericht:
