D
Seems to be satisfactory and solid
DB5002 03.01.2016
I needed to replace a Pearl D 1000 N. I was TOTALLY satisfied with that Pearl seat until it broke down under me about 5 year too early in my opinion. I was really disappointed in that product and wanted to try something else.
I ordered this Gibraltar seat because my research for really solid hardware and especially drum seats indicates that Gibraltar might be a good choice. When I found out it only costs about 110,- Euros I didn't think twice.
The round seat sometimes turns when I make a sudden turning move with my upper body while playing. My Pearl D 1000 N didn't do that. Also it is a lot softer than the Pearl which also is not what I favor. But the Pearl seat fits the Gibraltar stand nearly perfectly so it is possible to experiment.
The stand itself seems to be solid enough and that is what I was going for. I hope it will last longer than the Pearl.
In the end I think this seat will do the job AND it is not as exceptionally expensive as nearly everything else in drum gear is at the moment. So I recommend checking it out.

Nothing to complain about
evmbfbzgs 18.03.2022
I was looking for a chair which seems durable, stable and comfortable. This drum throne offers everything of the mentioned characteristics and I am very happy with it.

In contrast to other bought items, I have not spend so much time with researching the best throne. So there might be better deals out there, but this drum throne seemed and still seems quite reasonable to me. It is heavier than expected which is good and I assume I can use it for much more time in the future.

TA
Excellent throne overall
Terribly American 17.08.2023
I bought this throne while rebuilding a drum set from the ground up since moving to Europe. Previously, I had a Pork Pie roundtop throne, and previously a basic PDP throne. This is an adequate median between those thrones, given the top is much more firm than some higher end thrones, but the stem is the same design and 99% as sturdy. It's just slightly more fine compared to my Pork Pie. The benefit of having a firmer top is that it will maintain its form for longer, and somehow I can sit on it consistently for longer before feeling any discomfort.

My only dislike is that the logo was printed 90 degrees away from the seam of the top, rather than 180 degrees like I prefer.

I also gave 4 stars in the "Quality" category only because it's not as heavy duty as some other thrones, but still well built overall! I am satisfied.

A
Worth getting ... will recommend
Anonymous 10.03.2015
Gibraltar has consistently produced quality and durable drum hardware - have been using it for 20+ years. We bought this (as part of a total refurbishing of our stage and sound equipment) as drum throne for a newly acquired Roland TD20K.

It sits really well, is adjustable for almost any size and is stable. The double bracing is important for stability and that feeling of security when you sit or rock in rhythm. On the adjustability. I must admit if you sit really low or have to sit really low in order to get your knee angle at 90° or less to the floor, you may have some issues to get it low enough especially if you are somewhat taller than 180cm.

The seating material (it is not a mesh seat, but padded sponge) may make you sweat but in a well conditioned auditorium and LED lighting rather than the old style heaters, you may still be able to have a comfortable experience.

For the price, this is worth it. Get it if it fits your budget.
