I just bought these tuners as a vintage look upgrade to my 2012 made Gibson Les Paul. Eventhough they look like old Klusons they have a better gear ratio. These rock 15:1 and that’s even better than the stock Grover Kidneys (14:1) that came with the guitar.
These are primarily made as replacements for older guitars, so the included bushings will fit the older 8,8 mm peg hole perfectly. Any modern Gibson Les Paul has the new style wider, 10 mm peg holes, so you have to buy conversion bushings, to get these tuners to fit your guitar. I bought the Göldo MB05C Adapter Sockets and they worked like a charm.
The tuners come with 8,8 mm sockets and screws included. Most Gibsons now has the Grover Kidnes as stock tuners. They are fastened with one screw on the back. These have two. But I realized the lower screw hole on these matched the existing hole from the old Grovers just spot on. So I only had to drill one new screw hole. That’s a big bonus, no leftover screw holes on your guitar!
