Having read the reviews and the tips here regarding shallow angle headstocks, I decided to risk it. The patient: 1983 Rickenbacker 350 with factory installed Grovers. The Grovers having spent years in a hot climate were hard to turn so ripe for replacement. Let's start with the worst there is to say about the 106C Locking Rotomatics: the screws included with the set are pretty soft and bad. With some patience you can get the holes to match up although it is not an exact match with the original Grovers. As the screws for the Locking Rotomatics are smaller it doesnt matter in reality and installing them where original Grovers have been is easy enough. The fact the eyes of the tuners are slightly higher than originals is not affecting my Rickenbacker in any way, I can play the same as I am used to (I hit the strings pretty hard). All in all these can be recommended!

Reliable

I have been using them for about 8 years now and they are exceptionally reliable. They make string changes a matter of very few minutes instead of a forty days and forty nights ordeal.
I had one hiccup with one of the tuners a couple of years ago, but Grover customer service proved to be one of the best I have come across, ever, and the issue was sorted quickly and at no cost.
They are a bit on the taller side due to the type of the automatic locking mechanism, but I didn't find that to be an issue on a Les Paul.
I have had great experience both with the tuners and the Grover customer care.

The Grover 106C Locking Rotomatics are value for money.
extraordinary tuning stability and you´ll save a lot of time by
restringing your guitar.
Easy to install on a Gibson Headstock. The holes fit perfect,
no need to drill new holes, only juse the holes from the original
tuners.

Improved my tuning stability immensely
GPodolan 18.09.2019
I own an Epiphone Les Paul and keeping in tune was hell with the original tuners. I had to check it every couple of songs and go through the tedious process of re-tuning very frequently. After I started using these tuners, I rarely have to re-tune. They are very precise and stable.
