The ultimate Rock sound

For some, they’re just noisy wooden boxes, for others they are the Holy Grail of guitar tone: We are of course talking about speaker cabinets equipped with the legendary Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. There's hardly a guitarist who hasn't encountered these speakers at some point, or at the very least, heard about them. Some enthusiasts might have even entertained the idea of building their own. However, it's not that simple, as a Vintage 30 sounds only as good as the cabinet it's housed in! In this regard, Harley Benton delivers the whole package with the G412A Celestion V30 and demonstrates that an excellent cabinet, crafted from modern materials, can also be genuinely affordable.

Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30 front speaker

Solid wood - no chipboard

As its name suggests, the Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30 features four Celestion Vintage 30 speakers with a total power of 240W and switchable impedance (16 ohms to 4 ohms). In stereo mode, it delivers 2 x 120W at 2 x 8 ohms. The 12" (30cm) Celestion Vintage 30 is iconic in rock music, known for its versatile sound on countless recordings. The cabinet, measuring 71 x 36 x 71cm, provides ample space for each Vintage 30 to perform at its best, and the two upper speakers are angled upwards. Constructed from robust 18mm poplar plywood coated in black Tolex, the Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30 weighs 39kg, which is to be expected in this range. With its sleek black exterior, matching front covering, and white decorative trim, the G412A Celestion V30 boasts an authentic look well worthy of display!

Combo or head - choose your weapons!

Due to its dimensions, the Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30 is often associated with powerful British tube amp heads, as they will sit perfectly on it. This historic combination, known in the industry as the "half-stack", is ubiquitous in the realms of electric guitar and bass. Of course, the G412A Celestion V30 will perform equally well with any other amp head or combo, and supply an impressive bass boost in the process. To top things off, its reliable design and industry-classic speakers will meet the highest professional standards, and can handle the most intense stage use.

Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30

Loud and powerful

Stages and rehearsal rooms are the natural habitats for the Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30, especially in the realm of Rock bands, where it will consistently meet expectations in terms of both sound and looks. With enough gain and volume, it will also capably hold its own against even the loudest drummers. In those rare instances when more power is needed, adding a second G412A will instantly do the trick! However, one mustn’t be misled by the system's impressive appearance - its speakers can also operate quietly when necessary. Beyond value for money, an excellent cabinet which rivals brands way above its price range
TheWobWizard 29.06.2020
I bought this cab as my band has been getting sick of using backline gear in the studio and at venues and we have moved on to investing into our own gear. I have used Orange, Mesa and Marshall Cabs and this beast rivals them in performance and quality.

The cab has great options for stereo and mono with, 4,8 and 16 ohms options making it incredibly versatile for the price, Marshall Cabs in the same price range typically only tend to by solely mono and at 8 ohms another advantage of this cab. I use it at 16 ohms in mono but the option being there is great for some of my smaller amps.

When out of the box, the speakers at first need a good breaking in as they're factory new, but after 20+ hours of play they sound absolutely excellent. It can handle high gain, high volume sound without the speaker itself distorting so fantastic if you don't want your tone crafted in your pedals and amp being affected!

One thing I would recommend it Thomann invest in a more quality packaging, the box was torn to shreds upon arrivals but the unit was completely unscathed. The box itself did not have handles made it a nightmare to move into my house.

Overall, it is an excellent sounding cabinet and the fact that I got it for £345 is an absolute steal for the price where it would still be value for money if it was an extra £100. I use this cab at home, studio and on stage. Strongly recommending for anyone who wants a quality cabinet.

Bugera 6262 Infinum + Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30 = a budget match made in heaven!?
tgchan.com 11.12.2022
So... Like almost everyone else... I have dreamt about full valve, ideally 100+ Watt amp head and a 4x12... After too much gear... too much money and too much time wasted... Here I am... With a budget version of a dream setup.

This is exactly what I have been chasing for years... Not the sound alone, even though its really good, but the experience... The experience of having this super sexy looking gear within your reach... The gear that is real and does not trying to emulate anything...

The cab came in battered in a barely holding up box... The bottom part of the box was literally holding on a sticky tape. The cab has dinks and scratches from the transport (even though it's new)/ One dink is so deep you can see wood...

Not even for a second have I thought about sending it back... All I wanted it be in working condition. I actually prayed so I do not have to send it back... I wanted it too much.

It all turned out good (almost... as one of the casters is bent/angled and the cab is not even, doesn't wobble with an amp on top so... it's all good I guess).

It works. It doesn't necessarily sound better than my previously 2x12 custom made mesa clone with generic v30 but...

I so much prefer this cab over the 2x12/ The look... It just completes the picture of everything you could have wished for.

Of course I want Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier with 4x12 matching cab but... This... This budget version is still such an amazing thing to have that I would rather keep it as an ornament then sell it.

It is really well made. I can only imagine how much beating it has already endured coming AS NEW to me... It really looks super nice and the idea that we can have such a goodie for such price is just incredible and I thank you for this so much...

Another thing that I can play this wonderful cab with a 120-Watt valve amp in my small room even @ 4 o'clock in the morning without waking anyone up is just mind blowing... You have read it right... a 120-Watt valve amp and a 4x12 v30 what is more... THE AMP DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A MASTER VOLUME... So if you dream about a full sized valve amp head and a 4x12 go get it and test it yourself. Do not believe the marketing BS about the bedroom amps, etc/ Test it yourself and know for real. The only real way to know.

(I love metal and everything that's heavy, rock as well)
Bugera 6262 Infinum + Harley Benton G412A Celestion V30 gives you practically everything you could wish for for the price of a what? Quad cortex? Not even axe fx 3. You get THE REAL THING. Not wannabe something else/everything else.

If you are after the fun/experience/practice and do not have to move from one place to another... What are you even waiting for...

If I were to gig... I would definitely go for a 1x12 or max 2x12 vertical with a 50Watt head. It is judy heavy and even though I have managed to heave it upstairs myself (167cm @69kg) it is super risky for your health/back so if you can... ask for help/

The amp and the cab result in a very tight but still nice and bassy sound. I cannot speak too much of the tone as I play the amp the very wrong way... All at 12 so.. the tone probably can be much much better but I just cannot deal with this... I would have never been happy and fiddle with it to death. Hence 12 o'clock and just play.

Still. It gives me enough power/bass and the feeling that I question if I even need anything else?

Thank you Bugera, Harley Benton and of course Thomann/ <3

Excellent Cabinet, Heavily Damaged in Transit
Not That Famous 11.02.2021
I would not normally hold any vendor responsible for damaged items in shipping if they were packaged in such a way where the item should've been reasonably protected. This was not the case with the cabinet. There was no substantial edge protection on the corners of the cabinet and the most vulnerable area of the cabinet, the grille, should have been protected by placing a thin sheet or wood or thick, sturdy cardboard. It wouldn't cost much and anyone buying the item would gladly pay and extra few bucks for more protection, especially when shipping the item from Germany to the United States.

In my case customs also took off the back of the cabinet and dragged a razor knife across the back of every Celestion Vintage 30 speaker and leaving a deep scratch across every single speaker. This is in no way Thomann's fault but you should know this is a possibility when having it shipped to the U.S.

Now the cabinet, it's fantastic. Seriously, it sounds fantastic. I love the 4x12's so much I want to order the 2x12's. The highs, lows and mids are all great, cleans, dirty, and everything in between. Sure I had to make extensive repairs which Thomann later advised me not to because it could potentially cause issues with warranties and to next time just return the item to UPS for inspection and file a claim with them but the sound and quality of the cabinet is top notch. They're truly the best speakers that I have ever heard and I am very happy to have them.

A
A very good sounding Speaker Cab
Alexander7904 08.08.2014
I have been using this Guitar speaker cabinet for about 4 years now and it sounds better and better for every year. My amplifiers have changed but the cabinet remains the same.
Sound Quality : The speakers are Celestion V30´s , and there is nothing to say about them, execpt that they are a little bit harsh and bright sounding in the beginning. That is probably to the fact that to keep the cost down, the manufacturer doesn't "brake in" the speakers. So that is something you have to do yourself. When the speakers are "broken in", the sound coming out of this cabinet is well matched to more expensive guitar cabinets.
Build Quality : The build quality is a little above average. The wheel diameter are a little bit on the smaller side, and that makes it a little bit difficult to push the cabinet over carpets and cables lying on the floor.
Features : The Ohm selector is a nice feature. In my situation it has been quite handy, since i have been switching amplifiers from time to time. The Stereo/Mono feature is also a nice addon. I have had connected a stereo power amp, and have been able to use stereo effects with good results.
I would definitely recommend using this cabinet with any guitar amplifier, Just remember to break in the speakers.
