I can find only two possible reasons why are those cabinets (and all other HB portfolio) are cheap but really good:
1. No big margin (Thank you HB)
2. Using older tech. And this is not bad. If it sounds good, how cares?
So if you want a “vintage” sound that you can hear on the old amps, this a great way to get into it without paying much. If you want that punchy sound that modern bassists likes, this not a good choice for you. Maybe if you connect bass head that produce this punchy sounds, you might get some of that but don’t expect too much. I haven’t tried that.
Sound is clean, warm and rounded but it does feels maybe litlle empty. I don't find that as a problem but some of you may not like it. But with good head and maybe some pedals, you can alter it as you wish.
Even thou it says that frequency response is from 60Hz, open E string (41 Hz) is still loud like rest of strings, but 5th string, an open B (31 Hz) is quieter.
Build is solid, no complain on that. You get the same build quailty on few time more expensive cabs.
Tweeter is only weak part of this assembly. I cannot hear a difference with tweeter on/off but they are not expensive to buy better one.
I'll buy 2x10 when it's back in stock. I use them for live plays since I always plug a head to PA system so sound quality is not a concern to me. If they ask me to put microphone in front instead of going "Dircet out", I would do it.
