Perfect, Sturdy

It's hard to get a sense of what all these double bass stands really look or feel like and if they're secure enough to leave your instrument on.

I picked this one because I have other hercules gear which is well made and because the profile of the stand was lower than a lot of the other stands available. The low back made me a little nervous but I really didn't want one with a neck support that would be very tall.

This stand is pretty perfect for my needs. Low centre of gravity, good padding and supports the bass almost to the top of the body. It won't wobble or fall over when it's on the stand.

It's light enough and also has a hook on the back for a bow if you need it which is nice.

Really happy with the stand

Nice solid stand, well constructed with a good hold.

Received this stand recently and I was impressed with how well it holds my bass. All contact points are padded and the rubber padding also provides good traction against the surface of the bass to hold it securely in place.

The stand leaves enough clearance for the endpin to rest clear of the floor and it seems well constructed with quality materials. It is also really easy to fold down and transport. It comes ready assembled so putting it up was very simple.

The price on Thomann for this stand was excellent - almost half of what some other retailers are charging. Service was excellent too. For home use I would rate it first class. There are no upper bars to the stand which may make it a little more vulnerable at performance venues. However, the Hercules does seem to hold the bass pretty securely so it would need a substantial knock to topple it. I'm not sure any stand would guard against that. There is actually a handy and very visible yellow bracket cover at the rear of the stand which will help prevent clumsy bypassers catching it with their feet.

I bought this on the recommendation of another Double Bass player and I have not been disappointed. In short it is a simple, solid and secure solution to safely resting your Double Bass.

J
A nice double bass stand

Looks very minimal and blends well in the interiors in comparison with more "gig-oriented" stands. Made from metal all around, doesn't take too much space and is a bit flexible, which works to prevent the bass from tipping.

Mine was damaged on arrival, but Thomann gave a discount for it, which should cover repair costs.

If I had a car..

This stand was purchased out of my great experiences with other Hercules products: music stands and bass guitar stands, namely. My modest double bass sits proudly on it, and it can be folded to be less obstructive whilst the bass is in use. The little hook for bows is practical and can fit two comfortably. Three for handling as it can be a little tough to fold, as it used little metal pushbuttons (which I only discovered after having owned the product for quite some time, they're easy to miss) and when your bass is in one hand, bow in the other, you're wired up on coffee and there are papers and books strewn across your floor it has led to some degree of frustration. I can't imagine I'm the only one who throws a temper at little things like fiddly buttons.
That said, the build quality seems solid, and while I'm sure there's a way to break it, you certainly won't through regular use. It's stability is good and should you have an empty corner in your room (I certainly don't) it would sit tidily flush against the wall.
Any issue I could see with it would be the comparative thinness of the rear 'legs', and I've wondered if my incompetence might cause these to buckle at some point while folding it. Not heavy but still not really portable enough for me to bring it along as I walk everywhere with my bass.
