Great hifi headphones, but hurt my ears
Ivan Ivkovic 01.12.2023
The bass is rich, mildly elevated. The sub bass is real. Great for EDM.
Mids are somewhat recessed but present.
The treble is way too much for my taste. The sibilance is real and they hurt my ears.
In many tracks the guitars and cymbals are louder than the vocals.
I had to return them but I appreciate them.
To the trebleheads who want massive soundstage and an engaging beautiful hifi sound, take these.
Not for the studio. The sound is too decorated. Luxuriously so, but not studio signature.

Great High end Headphone at a Reasonable Price
Ericcatania 28.10.2023
A reasonably priced hifiman headphone which has qualities of their higher end models (arya, he1000).
+Great soundstage and seperation and layering, very comfortable, easy powered, bright but pleasent tuning
-lack of accessories and very poor presentation box

N
quite mediocre...
N1els 10.01.2024
I'm used to use a DT770, and to be honest, i dont have the feeling this is a step up in sound quality...
for this price, you'd expect something else.. i got the feeling the high-end is missing, the sound is very muffled. Mids and lows are good.

The edition xs is more comfortable, yes, for sure. Bigger ear cup, less clamping force but still sticks to your head because its lighter.
The cable is worse, as it is not strechable/spring-like

Best bang for the buck
the_nullman 05.02.2024
Long story short: I am a fan of these headphones now. They are a HUGE improvement over my previous purchase, the Hifiman HE400se. They sound bigger, the bass is deep (example: "Oblivion" by Boston 168; the bass is so deep it feels you're outside the club) , not muddy, the highs don't pierce your ears, so they are overall more balanced.

Highly recommend them
