Plug and ply with Garage Band

Pros: This is a great piece of gear that I wish existed years ago when I first started music. It includes recording software, though I prefer Garageband.The keys feel good, the drum pads respond well and it has a small footprint on my desk/ is easy to stow when not being used. It has 2 cables: one for USB powered recording and the other for iPhone/iPad devices.

Cons: The power adapter is 45-50 euro, which is ridiculous! Since I primarily use it with my iPhone (easier to edit songs while on transit) I need to use AA batteries and it's been semi-convenient to use rechargeables. Honestly, this keyboard should include the power adapter instead of making it an expensive upgrade.
Next, the stand that comes with it WOULD be cool, if it was able to handle a phone w/ a case.
Aside from that, this thing rocks!

Works quite fine, although I was a little annoyed, that you can’t use it with an apogee duet on an Ipad pro, which would be very useful. Apparently it isn’t possible to use it parallel , connecting the irig with usb to apogee and then lighning to ipad. No useful signals come through. Sad thing is i only got it, as before my novation keyboard used to be able to do this until some update, where it’s been decided not to benefit from this connection anymore. Quite ridiculous, but that’s company policy i guess with apple and third party products. The keyboard it self works fine and the keys are nice to play on, when connected. Mainly using it on my mac pro now. Also it would be quite useful, if the knobs would also work in garageband, so you could actually live tweak the synths, but the knobs only work on the irig products, which, if you really want full access, you will have to buy separately, as you only get free apps with upgrade options. Sad but true.

En primer lugar hay que tener en cuenta que estoy aprendiendo a tocar el piano. Debido a que viajo mucho por trabajo y no puedo transportar mi teclado, no quería cortar mi progresión de aprendizaje, así que mis requisitos eran un teclado completamente portable de 25 teclas de tamaño completo (que cupiera en una mochila junto a un portátil) y de fácil integración con iOS y ordenador.

Después de una búsqueda intensiva, me encontré con pocas opciones en el segmento de teclados controladores/sintetizadores y al final escogí el iRig. Las alternativas o bien tenían mini teclas o bien eran demasiado pesados o voluminosos.

A pesar de que quizás cuando aprenda más y lo pueda utilizar como controlador puro se quede corto, para el uso actual que le doy es simplemente perfecto. Los acabados son correctos y parece bastante resisitente, además el software que iRig te proporciona con el teclado es simplemente impresionante y su atención al cliente es muy buena -en Agosto regalaban una maleta para el iRig y al ser Thomann distribuidor oficial, me la han mandado-.

Quizás el único contra sería que fuera menos de "plástico" pero claro luego eso supondría un incremento de peso, así que nada más que añadir.
