Intellijel Designs 7U Case 104 HP
Kevinem. 31.07.2020
I have owned this case for roughly 1 year, and then one day after switching it on, one of the -12-volt rows on the power supply short circuited, the case now needs replacing, very disappointing, but it happens.

My overall impression is that Intellijel is a fantastic modular company that makes amazing modules, the 1u modules are a very useful addition, this case however is nice, i feel it is overpriced, and not very sturdy, it could easily get damaged in transit, especially as your line in / out, midi connection, power etc., are all exposed, the protective bag that Intellijel offer, is extra money you need to spend on protecting your case, you simply can't take it with you without the bag, that’s my honest thoughts, the case will get damaged.

Personally after owning one, I would not go for another, I believe there are better cases out there with better power boards and tougher case shells that don't require spending extra cash on bags, and joiner plates when you need to expand.

As for their modules, I will carry on purchasing from Intellijel, they are wonderful.

Loving this case but...
unruhe 02.04.2019
I travel by air a lot and the case gets on every flight as carry on without a problem, which is just brilliant.
The hardware is top-notch great design both in the usage and the aesthetics. Closes patched with a bit of putting the spaghetti in its place.
I'd love to give it 5 out of 5, but...
Lack of shoulder straps or strap points is a big minus for me.
I understand that all the connectors and sockets must be facing out of the box, but being on top and having no built in protection makes them open to the elements. Just two weeks ago I lest a club after a gig to be met with a heavy rain... since then I use gaffer tape across all sockets.
Also, the power connector is a cheap-o, standard plug which don't give me much confidence. It fits snugly-is, but is more suited for a small toy than an expensive travel/club case.
A device allowing to lock the cable by twisting it around something would do the trick. I'll be drilling a bigger hole and installing a lockable power connector.
Overall, I would recommend it, just consider the above issues.

Feature-rich and lightweight

This case is best for travel and live events. You can back enough modules for synths, drones and drums, and the 1U row is perfect for utilities and IO.

The chassis is very light. Be careful though: the single sheet of metal bends easily, so it may not withstand falling on the concrete floor. In my case, a lid fell to the floor and bent, but I could straighten it up with my bare hands.

In the studio, though, it takes up a lot of space.

One of the best solutions around
Palladio 03.11.2022
I highly recommend this case. I used to have the 84HP version that I sold off in favour of a 12U solution, but decided to go back to basics after getting lost in too many options. My decision to downsize to this 7U 104 HP is probably the best I've made during half a decade of eurorack wanderings. These cases are wonderful as a compact standalone system. The 1U row is brilliant for basic utilities, and the integrated in-and outputs on the back are perfect.
Or to quote William Blake: “The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom. You never know what is enough until you know what is more than enough.”
