Nice guitar, but very poor finish
FergalP 17.03.2021
Disappointed with the quality. The guitar came with a label showing that it had been hand inspected, but it had the following issues:
- Tangible long imperfection in the neck wood.
- Very high action
- Rough fret edges that nick your finger
- Rough wood finish in areas - seemed to be not fully sanded

Will likely return it even though it sounds great:(

Schöne Gitarre
JanPW 07.01.2021

A Good Guitar
Dinky 08.06.2018
This is an excellent nylon acoustic for those who don't play classical stuff. It sounds a bit different from the typical nylon stringed guitar, and it works very well for chord work and accompaniment.

I think it's probably the cedar top that makes the difference, the more common spruce top guitars generally lack focus and "cohesion" in the midrange the way cedar gives you. The ovangkol fretboard instead of rosewood probably adds to this characteristic, since this wood seems to make for a slightly more "midrangey" and less sharp and spiky tone.

This guitar is also quite loud for an acoustic to my ears, so it can really hold its own against a singing voice. I'd guess the top is extra thin, or it's just very lightly braced. This is a good thing, as long as it doesn't make the guitar too fragile.

Finally, the neck is a bit thinner than standard for nylons, adding to the feeling this guitar is meant for accompaniment, not classical guitar playing. It really feels designed for it from the ground up.

The build quality is totally fine to my eyes, and I'll add a plus for the carbon neck reinforcement! Plus it already comes with good strings and bone nut and saddle, so you don't even need to change anything to make it sound its best, other than perhaps filing down the underside of the saddle a little (string height is on the high side IMO). But it's not strictly required, since nylon strings are so light to the touch anyway. I haven't bothered.

The only thing I'd fault it for, is that I think it's a bit *ugly* to be honest!

But that's probably just me not appreciating the nylon aesthetics. I'm generally more of a steel player.
