I got this humbucker to amplify my brand new Harley Benton Custom Line CLR-Chrome Resonator Guitar. Since it was advertised a suited for resonator guitars.
I also read a review here at Thomann in the resonator guitar section, of someone who used this pickup to amplify a resonator.
I am new to the resonator guitar thing.
But, in my opinion, it does not resemble the resonator sound at all.
Mind you, as a humbucker, it sounds awesome. But just like a normal guitar.
I tried it over an acoustic amp.
And a HB Tube 15 amp. I was looking for the slightly distorted blues rock sound. Distortion enough, but not resonator.
So, that was a disappointment.
I will nevetheless keep the Lace, for fooling around with with some other guitars, because as a pickup, it is awesome. I would give it 5 stars easily. It really has punch and clarity.
Maybe it is my guitar (doubt it)..but the only way I could get s o m e resonator- like sound from it, was by placing the Lace as far as possible under the bridge, onto the resonator itself, where the surface is not flat. It is clearly not built for that.
So, for resonator purpose, I would give it 2 points only, but as a humbucker that sounds and looks great, 5 points.
I am looking for another solution to amplify my Resonator.
