With the Maui 28 G2, LD Systems has brought onto the market a PA column system that, with its simple appearance, is suitable as both a discreet monitor and unintrusive PA system. The active column system, consisting of a line array and a subwoofer, is not only space-saving, but can also be set up in no time at all, so that it can get to work immediately thanks to its plug-and-play design. Its two satellite speakers feature sixteen 3" midrange drivers and two additional 1" diameter tweeters. The subwoofer is equipped with two 8" woofers and draws further bass energy from its bass reflex system.
With the LD Systems Maui 28 G2, 2000W peak and 1000W RMS power ensure that the inconspicuous system can provide sound for around 100 to 150 people. Each mono system delivers a maximum sound pressure level of 126dB SPL. Its frequency range extends up to 20kHz in the highs and thus to the limits of human hearing. In the low end, the frequency response reaches down to 45Hz. Users looking for even more bass power can connect another subwoofer to the XLR sub output. Of course, the sound processed in the system can also be passed on to a monitor or FOH mixing console via "System Out". If this seems too much effort, the user can adjust not only the overall volume, but also the bass level of the system via the corresponding control.
For singing performances, moderations, and presentations as well as all other vocal transmissions, the microphone can be connected directly to the designated input of the LD Systems Maui 28 G2. Its combo socket can accommodate both XLR and jack connectors. The same applies to the two line inputs; in addition, two RCA sockets are provided here, for example for hi-fi equipment. Singer-songwriters can plug their acoustic guitar directly into the jack socket of the instrument input. And as befits a contemporary small PA, there is also a mini-jack for connecting a laptop, smartphone, or tablet. If a device with Bluetooth functionality is available, it can also be connected wirelessly to the Maui 28 G2.
LD Systems originated in Germany and is a brand of the Adam Hall Group. The company’s ambition is to give musicians the freedom they need to effectively express their musical ideas on stage. To achieve this, LD Systems has developed products that include affordable speaker series, wireless microphones, and in-ear monitoring systems. LD Systems attaches great importance to the durability and user-friendliness of its products. Right from the development stage, attention is paid to simple, intuitive, and effective operability. LD Systems also pays great attention to the design of its equipment, so that the technology is not only acoustically but also visually attractive. Accordingly, LD Systems has already been awarded several renowned design prizes.
Thanks to its circuit design, which protects against overvoltage, short-circuits, and overheating, the LD Systems Maui 28 G2 is suitable for continuous operation at trade fairs as well as for events that require high operational reliability. With a height of over 2m, the assembled system projects highs and mids perfectly over the heads of spectators. Speaking of transport: The subwoofer's birch multiplex cabinet is heavy, but also very robust. For those who need to move the 31kg system frequently, there are optional custom-made cases as well as a suitable castor board. DJs, solo entertainers, and bands can use the system not only in mono mode, but also in stereo mode with the addition of a second system.
