These were my first set of timbales, they are quality enough for anyone at entry level, but still quality enough to lay down on recordings and get a traditional sound.
The bonus of these shells are the depth (8"), helping you play cascara patterns more easily as there is more space to do so.
The finish is excellent, and the stand/hardware that comes along with it will not have you looking to replace it in any short time, quality stuff all around.
It comes with a stock pair of sticks, cowbell and LP heads, these will need to be replaced right away with better quality single ply heads (Remo Ambassador, Evans G1) a solid cowbell and proper timbale sticks.
Again, these look excellent and give a deep sound, but not a traditional one, more experienced players will be looking for a traditional brass shell as this shell is brushed nickel, giving a more dark sound. These can be loud, and may not require you to mic them live, you can turn up, set up and play quite easily.
These also tune with a spanner (Provided) so the tuning range and detail can be limited, unlike higher range models that are drum key tuneable.
Great product.
